To pass through the first door you must guess the name of the guardian, who can be seen beyond the stone altar. You can go round the altar (on the left) to get a closer view. Study the guardian very carefully, noting his head, his sceptre and the fact that he has no feet. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Before you can operate the six tablets on it, you have to activate the stone altar by inserting the bee of the magical wax (given to you by Ptah) into the bee engraving in the centre. Each of the 6 tablets on the altar represents a syllable of the guardian's name. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Whenever a tablet is clicked portion of a guardian hologram is displayed. Every 3 clicks produces a complete guardian, beginning with the bottom, then the middle and finally the top. Click each tablet three times and note the feet, sceptre and head it produces. To replicate the first guardian you have to use the feet of Tablet 1, the sceptre of Tablet 6 and the head of Tablet 4. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

TWO-FOLD TRIAL | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
To complete the two-fold trial you need to negotiate both Maya and her ka (ethereal double) through the labyrinths. You move Maya and her ethereal double reproduces her move in the same direction. Note that you can direct her towards a square blocked by a wall, in which case her ethereal double moves even though Maya remains on the same square. Similarly, if her ethereal double is directed towards a square blocked by a wall it remains on the same square and only Maya moves. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Begin by moving Maya onto the square at D2 and then follow the movements as indicated below to get her to the 'END' square at A3 and her ethereal double to A2. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

If you select an incorrect guard the puzzle resets. There are 3 variations of this puzzle, each having different statements and the hearts in changed positions. Note that the initial variation repeats after three incorrect attempts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
FINAL TRIAL | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
For the final trial you must walk on the four mats (illustrated below) in a specific sequence to get to the other side. The sequence is randomly generated, so there's no fixed solution. Each mat has a number of black dots arranged in a pattern. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Begin by panning upwards (while facing the golden arch at the opposite end) to see a constellation of stars. There are four different constellations, each of which matches the black dots on one of the mats. The constellation always indicates the mat you must walk onto. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

When Osiris tells you 'our enemy gave himself away by abandoning an object that you have found' give the mysterious knife (found in the embers at the Quarry) to him. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
He tells you to return to Memphis to speak to Khâemouaset and prepare a salty beverage that must be offered up to Ptah. He also gives you some kyphi (soporific incense) that, when cast on a flame, gives off a smoke to paralyze your enemy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
To get to Memphis, place the dried snake (given to you by Ouni) on the burnt section of the papyrus you are standing on. The burnt section is near the bottom left corner of the papyrus. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
After activating the stairs, climb up to return to Memphis. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
MEMPHIS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Talk to the little girl in front of the rectangular structure twice to get the sacred recipient from her. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There are now two workers at the poolside, the second of which has a bad stutter. Use the transfer handkerchief on the second worker and transfer the stutter onto the first worker. In return for curing him, the second worker gives you some salt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Use the cobra of hypnosis on the guard outside, then enter the temple. Give the salt and the sacred recipient to Khâemouaset to trigger a cut scene in which Ptah tricks Set into restoring the floods. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Go to the guide at the entrance and ask him to take you to Pi-Ramses. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
