Hi, I am at the Grand Tower. I fiddled with these things for ages and eventually got through all of the gates. There is then a short stretch of bridge before I enter what looks like a small antechamber to a building. On the back wall there is what looks like a hatch, but when I approach nothing happens. I have looked around the antechamber and can find nothing to "use"; I don't get the ghostly arrows anywhere. As I have gone through all the gates, I assume I have done everything correctly, and as I am here I assume I am meant to be. I can't believe I am supposed to just leave and go back down the lift to the Woods, so I am staying put until help arrives What next?? flotsam

Hi Jenny, Yes I did use both filters but must have done it wrong. Assumed seeing as how I was through, that I had the gates positioned correctly. That will teach me! Back to try again.

Thanks Jenny it worked. It was the last gate. I had failed to look through the eyepiece and had it round the wrong way, even though it appeared to be correct in the long view. Onwards to 28, whatever that is.

I kept going back to a save in the previous area and replaying and getting nowhere. Finally I thought to actually look through the lens in ALL the telescopes instead of just some. Only then did I notice the one that was reversed.

I still can't place both filters over the telescope lens. I don't know why everybody else can and I can't. I have a save game but I would like to do it myself. I have never had any problems up to this point. Thanks Richard

Richard, It is a glitch and I don't know what else to tell you. Long shot - are you sure you have the filters? OK seriously - have you tried looking through the telescope and then clicking on both filters? Is this with all the telscopes?

MaG Same thing on all the telescopes. I look through the telescope and all I see is the security gate but no blue or red, I click again and I back away from the telescope. The telescope shows I have both filters. In the inventory it shows two filters. I wonder if I realoaded the game again. Thanks,Richard

Are you sure you're on the top floor, Wolflady? If so, you should be able to access the telescopes. Here are the directions for getting up there: SPOILER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To get to the top floor:
Enter and the elevator rises to the third floor as shown by the number of bars at the center.
At third floor, look carefully and take the first left exit. Come back in. Go down to the first floor.
At first floor, look carefully and take the first right exit. Come back in. Go up to the fourth floor.
At fourth floor, look carefully and take the second left exit. Come back in. Go up to the fifth floor.
At fifth floor, look carefully and take the second right exit. Come back in. Go up to the top sixth floor.

"But you have to look through the eyepiece of the telescope for each one to make sure which is in the back. The one in the back isn't always on the left side or the right side"..........
WHAT??
I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

IREP to GameBoomers! Seems like a bug. Just to see if it is not: Click on the telescope and you should see both filters on either side of the telescope. Then click on one filter and then click on the other filter - this should place both filters on the telescope lens. Then click on the telescope lens itself- the clear circle at the center. - This should make a zoom mode and you should see the gates in color. If you still can't and if you want a saved game here - just post. Also check my other post on the other thread that is an answer to your other post. Too many posts on the posts all over the posts at the forum

It sounds like you are right clicking when you should be left clicking to back out and put in the second lense. This puzzle works slightly different than most when it comes to going into and out of a puzzle.
Click on a lense and then on the center of the telescope eyepiece to look through it. Then left click to back out (but NOT out of the puzzle, which would remove the filter you had put in) and then you can click the other lense and install it WITH the one already in there. Then look through the lense again and afterwards you can right click to back out of the puzzle and BOTH lenses will be removed......so you will have them for the next telescope.
I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!
