Game development studio Litera and Russian publisher Akella are partnering to bring gamers the upcoming horror game, Night Watcher. Our own Looney4Labs reports back with lots of details here.

Looks like a title that will go to the Dark Side. I still don't fully understand what the developer counts as puzzles.

Thank you Looney4Labs for the interview.

(The formating is bad; orange/grey is hard to read, differentiate question/answer etc. This is an example of a well formatted text.

Quote:

Q: I’ve seen Night Watcher described as “point-and-click,” but your website mentions “intuitive and user friendly controls.” Is the game controlled entirely by the mouse or does it involve a combination of the mouse and keyboard?

A: The game actually uses point and click technology. For the convenience of the player we made simple and intuitive tools, as well as friendly GUI-interface arcades and mini-games

The answer is inconclusive. So the game uses point and click technology but is it a point and click game? A simple question, just answer "yes" or "no". Instead, I get it actually uses point and click technology, simple and intuitive tools etc. I can bet it is not a simple point and click game. There will be keyboard requirements which will doomed the game like how Dead Reefs did. Based on this answer, I have a bad feeling the game will also be as frustrating as this answer.

Take it easy.

Hi smile

Thanks for that, Becky and Looney4Labs thumbsup

However, the repeated mention of Arcade and Mini Games means it doesn't sound like a game for me eek

Cheers.

I'm confused. Is it an adventure or a survival horror?
Survival horror is a subset of action/adventure. Examples would be games like Fatal Frame, Haunting Ground, Obscure, Rule of Rose, the Silent Hill games, Siren, Kuon, and the Resident Evil series.

Hi Jenny -- it sounds like one of those genre-bending games. We probably won't know if it's more adventure or more survival horror until it releases in English and a few of us get our hands on it.

L4L Impressive questions you asked I think you did a great job!
Question though is this a game like Witcher? Is there fighting involved? Do we interview people? Just trying to understand more about the game to see if I should put it on my buy or wish list.

Ascovel, it will be interesting to see for sure.

Twenty, sometimes it is difficult to get a specific and exact answer. You have to remember that many times, the interviews are translated first from English and then back into English.

I do get the feeling that it will all be point and click. But of course, we will not know until we actually get to play the game.

Mad, I'm interested to find out what kind of arcade and mini-game sequences and how often and how difficult they will be. We just won't know until we get our hands on it.

Jenny, I think it is an adventure with a Survial Horror bent, such as Black Plague was.

Sherryah, this is not supposed to be like Witcher. There may be some fighting involved but we are not sure of the mechanics or how often or how hard.

Thanks Guys, it's always fun to get ask questions wave
