Hi All, I'm stuck in the First day. Holmes keeps saying he needs to check somemore. Is the train ticket suposed to go in the documents book ? I click on read, but it does not go in. Could this be the problem? Thanks, for any help Lillian

Hi Lillian,

Yes, the ticket should appear in Documents after you have clicked on Read. If your documents section is already fairly full, you can scroll through by clicking the ornate curlicue at top and bottom centre of the page. See if the train ticket appears at the top. luck

Thanks Rushes, It's not going in documents when I click on read. I have scrolled through. It is not there. I did not unpack purse as soon as I found it. Maybe that is why. I guess I will start over with new game. Hopefully that will work. Lillian

Does the ticket appear in close-up onscreen anyway, when you click Read? Rather than starting a brand new game, continue playing and see how it goes. Possibly the tickets are just story flavouring and don't affect game progression.

Rushes, When i click read for the ticket, It does not show up in close up, Homes reads what it is. I have replayed the game 1st day Holmes part. Still can't get ticket in documents. I have talked to everyone, got all documents, got all evidence. When I go to the double doors, exit. Holmes says not ready . Thanks Lillian

Lillian,

Have you checked all the tabs.
Items, dialogues, documents are filed in different tabs.

The notebook on the left of the inventory bar shows the dialogue-testimony page (Sherlock with witness), reports-evidence page, documents page and the map pag.

Check all of them and see if one of them has what you are trying to keep.

Hi Mari,

Which quiz are you having trouble with - Day 1? There are a few quizzes throughout the game.

Some characters have more than one section of dialogue, so make sure that you have selected the correct dialogue for the respective question. Read through your choices to check that the answer is in the dialogue. luck

Hi, I'm now at the abby ruins. Trying to get water to put out fire. I made many practice runs. So I'm familiar with the path to pond and back. Problem is Sherlock. so slow even when double clicking. Any hints to speed up the process ? also how to save time picking up pail and filling it at lake. Thanks Lillian

I also had difficulty doing this, I ended up memorizing the places where he is to be standing on to get theeasiest turn and where he should walk and all the nit picking details.
Do you want a saved game?

Hi Lillian,

Another trick with the fire run is not to panic or double click repeatedly while Holmes is still moving. This confuses the poor chap and he'll just stand still and do absolutely nothing, wasting seconds. Double click to make him run, and only after he stops running should you immediately double click again in the next direction you want him to take.

Good luck - you can do it! Let us know how you get on. If you would prefer a saved game just let us know. smile

MaG, Thanks for responding. I've made up my mind I'm going to do it !!!. I'll just go in everyday and have a go. Thanks again, for the encouragement. Lillian.

PS I couldn't have got this far without your walkthrough.

Rushes, thanks for the tips. To much double clicking is just what I have been doing. Thanks for offer of save. I'm not ready to quit just yet. Lillian

I am having a problem with the key to Fowlett's house. Sherlock stands in the way of the keyhole and holding the key, he says I can't enter like that. Any help or hint?

After receiving the key, did you speak again to Constable Fletcher?

Not at first but the walkthrough told me about that and I did speak to Constable Fletcher and Watson. Then I could open the door. I am at the point where Watson is at the train station in Flatham. He gets on the train and finds the clues but not in order. Supposedly after he picks up the cigarette, the scene changes to Baker St with Holmes analyzing the red hairs. But it stays at the station and Watson gets off the train and talks to the stationmaster again. Did I miss something along the way?

There is a second feather to pick up from one of the benches out on the station platform. It's difficult to see, but is on the far left of the bench as you look at it. That's likely what is holding you up.

Found the second feather and that was the hangup. I'm now at Bromsby Cementworks at night and trying to get pass the man and his dog. I stay behind the wheelbarrow and wait for the dog to pass the right lamp and get out of sight. Then I slowly run towards the office door and always get caught. Is there a better way?

Possibly you're waiting too long at the wheelbarrow. Start running the moment the dog clears the lamp post, rather than waiting for it to disappear from sight. If you still get caught, try running a little earlier still. Also have the key at the front of your inventory so you don't waste time scrabbling for it when you reach the door. smile

Got in and out of the office and made it to the Fairfax Theater. It's Day 4 and I am at Hunter's house. I've gone through everything and Watson has taken the pawn ticket to pick up an item. I should be returning to Baker Street but I'm still at Hunter's. I don't think I missed anything.
