Am trying to use flute to communicate with Niels. I get a nice sound once in a while but cannot get it more than once. I really don't know how to proceed. Help!

I'll try to give you a few hints:

1.
Click to reveal..
It's not strictly "musical" or "sound" puzzle - think of it more as of a logic puzzle.

2.
Click to reveal..
Try to describe sounds with words and then number them so you can easily reference them. You need to number only sounds made by Niels, not by flute, as you can easily reference to flute sounds by hole number.

3.
Click to reveal..
There are 4 "question" sounds. You have to provide a correct "answer". Sounds are paired so once you figure out all 4 pairs, you simply have to guess 7 correct "questions" and you're through

4.
Click to reveal..
Niels produces nice sound for correct response, ugly sound for wrong response.

Hope that helps wave

I have a funny story which goes with this puzzle. In one of the localized build for the russian market I forgot to turn off debugging variable, which in turn automatically solved the puzzle. Next thing I know was this angry bug report:

Quote:
PLEASE INSERT BACK DECIPHERING NIELS LANGUAGE PUZZLE. It was good puzzle, interesting and with great sounds. If you consider it too difficult (Hmpf), then just insert possibility skip it or auto-solve after some time. Russian questers like difficult (but logical) puzzles. And it was right one.

I of course never meant to put this puzzle away (and for genuinely hearing-impaired people I even solved the puzzle personally), because as I stated it's more "logic puzzle" than audio based puzzle (in comparisons to non-musician's nightmares like organ puzzle in Voyage devil ) But this angry response from russian testers cheered me up as I realized that the puzzle really works. wave
