I had this game in my shelves for about 2 months. It was only two days ago that I start playing it again.

Gameplay: B & B, it’s a third person point and click adventure game which takes place in nowadays. During playing you can play other characters except the major one depending on the plot of the story. There is a map which allows you to go fast wherever you want and a notepad in which you can see important notes that you already find. There is also a diary in which you can read what must be done next.

Story: The story begins in your heroes apartment, Jonathan Danter, who is planning travel to Miami for an important interview (and to see girls in short shirts). Yes you are a journalist. Your boss is yelling at you that you absolutely must succeed in that part.
But alas when you are all set to go something strange happens and your travel goes for a walk. From this point you will find yourself in an adventure beyond your imagination… and you simple must go to the bottom of all these. It’s a matter of life and death… Maybe your owns too.
What secrets are hidden in Virgin Mary’s robe, the Vatican, the Templars treasures and what is the Imago Sanctissimus? You are the one who must find out…

Environment: The game takes place in different places in Europe such as Venice, London and France. It’s like a treasure hunt, following hidden clues that will lead you to an unbearable truth. The scenes are very nice all though the characters aren’t so well designed. You will visit very beautiful places.

Videos: Many videos in this game. Most of the time you will sit and watch than playing. Most of them are fool of talking and you can find yourself to 3 or 4 different places in the game before the video ends.

Music: Not very much to say about the music of this game. It’s ok but I would prefer to hear different music in the videos and not the same.

Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows® 2000 / XP / Vista™
CPU: 1.2 GHz Intel® Pentium® processor or AMD® Athlon™ processor
RAM: 256 MB (1 GB recommended for Windows® Vista™)
Video: 64 MB DirectX® 9.0c compatible or better video card
PC CD-ROM: 4x (or PC DVD-ROM drive)
Sound: 16-bit DirectX® compatible sound card
Available Hard Disk Space: 2.5 GB
DirectX®: 9.0c
Other: Mouse, Keyboard and Speakers

Epiloge: I could say that it will be much better if they unfold this story a little more. In general the story and the point and click part are the good parts in this game.
From the other hand there are several bad elements in this game. For example the playing time of the game was very short and it has a lot of videos to sit and watch. This would not be so bad if it was more balanced to the other parts of the game. It happened to play for 10 minutes and then watch a video which just didn’t want to end. The point and click element of the game though was pretty nice for those who like this kind of gaming mode but the interactive parts weren’t so many.
From a point of difficulty level I’ll say it was one of the easiest games I ever played (when you understand the gameplay) and I wouldn’t recommended for those who liked puzzles. There are very few and very easy puzzles in this game. It’s like they solved on their own. Belief and Betrayal (B & B) didn’t achieved to create the mystery atmosphere that is necessary in this kind of game.

Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

Hi Volkana -- thanks for the review! It sounds as though people who like a traditional, story-based adventure will be right at home here, as long as they don't expect mind-bending puzzles.

Hope i don't make the other players disappointed. This is only my thoughts of the game... I think for some players it would be ideal but for me... it wasn't. I ended it because i don't leave any game i play unfinished... except for one (Schizm 2). smile

Volkana, we love to hear what our players think. The only thing that is a constant is that a game one player loves, someone else will dislike and vice versa. That's why it's great we have so many games to pick from wave

Played Belief & Betrayal as well, and I agree with Volkana that the story could have been much better. Not to say that the story is bad, mind you. But some things were left out that could have been interesting; you get so much information that in the end you're utterly confused as to what has just happened. The game is rather short as well; I didn't use a walkthrough and was finished after about 12 hours (or maybe less, I usually don't look at my watch when playing :)) simply because some puzzles weren't that obvious and I had to keep trying. Also, some hotspots aren't instantly visible (watertank, anyone?) so it might take a while before you find them all. It's not a difficult game and rather enjoyable; I just felt that there were some questions left unanswered when the credits finally rolled. Also, the plot is not always logical but the game is fast-paced enough to not notice any plot-holes smile

Shiny.

I mostly agree with Volkana's review. I played the game in italian and I assume it is the same as the english version. I found the game entertaining and the puzzles were nice, however I remember being a bit disappointed about the ending. As Volkana said, it should have been a bit better thought out. All in all an ok game in the spirit of Martin Mystere games which were also good.
