the game is so awful .

Well its in German but its also an adventure game so you can play it and get forward .

The first problem in the game is the graphics :
The graphics is awful remind me the late 90's , They did the graphics in 3D and its just bad . And trust me i love graphics and the most important thing for me in games in adventure games is the graphics and the environment like animations life and stuff .

Well it dosent exist in still life 2 . Its dark very dark i had to use my video card settings to brightning the game to see things . There is nothing living around you . Everything is dark and frozen . You move so your character move like in small steps like a box or something .

The other thing that made me crazy is the inventory in this game:
For example in the first room where you start the game you can take each time one or two objects in your inventory then all the other objects you put on a big wooden board in the room and store it there . So next time you need to change an object in your inventory you must go back to this room and do the change in this or on this wooden board .
And so on after you leave the room and get into a new area same thing your inventory is stored in a outside cellar .
The inventory isnt on you .

After playing for one hour and i didnt have to talk to anyone even once . There is no story nothing . Well i dont understand german so i couldnt understand the start and intro but while playing its so so boring .

The most boring game i ever played .
You just walk take stuff store far away wich make you get back on your steps all the time and do some rubish stuff . Took me 10-15 minutes to take a ladder just to put it in the window to climb up to the room i just escaped from just to change stuff in my inventory as i mentioned before .

And now some technical stuff :

The game size is 3.76GB before installing .
The game when downloading is divided to 5 parts each about 900mb or so .

The downloading was slow took me hours to download with 7mb internet connection .

Almost 4GB of nothing . Sorry to say but this game is most disappointment . I wish the language was the main problem here .

My score for it 3/10 and im large .

My pc spec : P duo2core 3ghz 4gb ram geforce nvidia 8800gtx 768mb.

Perry-Rhodan -- if you played a game in a language you don't understand, it's very hard to give an informed opinion, don't you think?

Well Becky in most games you right .
But in this game since you dont have to talk to anyone to get forward like in other games beacuse there is no one to talk to so the language isnt a problem .

Its and adventure its not hard to take objects and try them on places .

And as i said up there the main problem isnt the language .
You dont need to know german to see the graphics right ?

Trust me the grahpics is old and dosent fit to 2009 not even tothe year 2000 .

And i also i played The book of unwrriten tales also in german and the game is the most pretty thing i ever saw . And i played every adventure game that exist . From sierra games on the 80's-90's and the game today .

Trust me when i say still life 2 is awful its not beacuse i dont know german .

I dont know german and i cant stop playing The book of unwrriten tales just beacuse its so pretty sharp full of animations and places and life . The graphics is the most pretty thing ever .

Soon i will upload gameplay video of my still life 2 to youtube so you can see it your self .

Ny opnion was on the game graphics movements inventory animation ... trust me the graphics is the last thing in still life 2 .

And if you will check german forums in adventure games sites in german and translate them into english you will read other pepole and what they say about the game and as i said before i was large with my score .

You are saying that the story is somehow communicated without any language? I agree that in a game like (for instance) RHEM, the use of language is very limited, and you could technically play the game in another language -- you wouldn't know why you were there or what your motivation was, but you probably still could play the game and get enjoyment from it.

But Still Life 2 is a mystery game, and if you don't know the language, how can you possibly understand the nuances of the story? Yes, you can mechanically use an inventory item on a hotspot, but you would very often not even understand why you were using it.

Just because it's possible to enjoy another game (Unwritten Tales, for instance) in a language that you don't understand doesn't mean that you are necessarily equipped to judge Still Life 2 when you don't understand the language.

Is your opinion just your opinion, or were you swayed by trying to read the German forums, translated by something like Babel Fish?

Thank You for your opinion on the game...I do hope they make an English demo...I am a bit concerned about the walking around in darkness....
There has to be some kind of plot or story or something tho headscratch

I guess I will have to wait for more opinions or maybe a review will come soon..

Perry, did you play the entire game? The reason I ask is, the graphics and the inventory issue wouldn't bother me, but the lack of other characters definitely would! Perhaps if you haven't played the full game yet, you just haven't run into any other characters yet? I hope this is the case, as I am really looking forward to this one.

I'm sorry you're so disappointed with it. frown

Glad to hear you are enjoying The Book of Unwritten Tales, at least. It does look quite good. smile

Hi Perry-Rhodan, did you play & like Still Life 1? The reason I ask is because many players loved the first one, including myself, & are so looking forward to the sequel. If you did play it, how do you think it compares to the first one? If not, I would be disappointed if the developers changed the style of the game that significantly & hope that perhaps it's just not your sort of game rather than being as bad as you say. smile N.B. What do you mean by "I'm large"????

Venus well i didnt play the entire game .
I had enough after the first part . As i said before i cant stop playing the book of unwritten tales .

Maybe in still life 2 if you play enough you meet other ppl .
So far the only chats i had in still life 2 was by the phone not face to face .

So the movies between gameplay are great but the gameplay it self very bad .

"im large" meaning the score i gave the game 3/10 .
"im large"=like giving hifg score to the game .

I'll agree the graphics may be a little less than expected, but I don't think the story is awful. It helps if you have the English converter so you can read the subtitles and know whats going on. I think I'm about half way through and so far the puzzles haven't been too difficult, and the game play is okay, but perhaps a little more was expected from it...

Chrissie yes they changed it a lot . I didnt play the entire game i had enough 5-10 minutes to understand what they did .

The graphics is in 3D and thats bad very bad .
And all the other stuff i mentioned before .

The first game i played twice it was one of my favorites games and i have waited long time for still life 2 .

Sorry to say but they just ruin the game in every espect .

I really loved the first Still Life catrub. I hope it isn't like we are being told here. I was looking forward to it. Also I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it will also be available in hard case and not just in download form think. I see in the Latest and Upcoming Adventure games section on GameBoomers it is listed as download. I am hoping it will also come out in hard copy if not right away at least shortly after. No matter what is said here I probably will still buy it in hard copy if available that way, because I loved the first one. So I gota have the 2nd one yay.

Trinny, the download will be first, followed a couple months later by the hard copy.

Is there a demo for this game? I'd like to try it for myself, even if it is in German.

I haven't been able to find a demo Ispace.
I don't understand how you can play a game for 5 or 10 minutes and blow it off that way. There is still about 10 or 11 hours of gameplay left. I've been looking at a lot of pics of the game and some of the pics are bright and pretty. I can't wait for the hard copy to come out.

Just found these Screenshots Here...They don't look dark at all duh

Thanks, Jon Costa

The only thing I would find a pain...Is putting things back on table & having to return later to use an inventory object..

Thanks Jon, looks to me like a normal adventure game. How did you get English subtitles? I thought it was all in German?

We have great screenshots here on GameBoomers also.
