Okay, I think I'll be ready to try this later tomorrow.
Thanks for the great info. The rainy season is coming. Last year it was Fallout 4; this year it'll be Skyrim.
EDIT: So I'm guessing I should get the premium NMM membership? Seems like it would be worth it.
EDIt again: And oh, shoot, the TESSedit stuff seems beyond me. For a start, I don't have a file extractor since this laptop is strictly for games. Well, you could skip the TES5Edit and maybe try it later if you have issues. As for a file extractor you can down load 7zip for free. It's fairly easy to use because it adds selections into your right-click menus (i.e. when you right click on a zip file it will have the selection "Extract Here")

Okay, 7Zip it is.
I've just started a game with a Wood Elf Thief, aiming for mega-archery skills and the usual taffing stuff, with some magic later on to beef up the power.
It's amazing how much I remember now. Feels just like going home. Actually. all of the ES games feel like going home -- especially Morrowind.

Well, so far so good. My original mod downloads are apparently still there, or at least listed, and I now have Cutting Room FLoor installed.
Time to go adventuring! Only this time I'll try to remember that there is actually a Main Quest.
EDIT: And I had forgotten just how beautiful the Skyrim music is. Reminds me very much of Howard Shore's soundtrack for LOTR.

Cool, I'm glad it's going well.

I'll install the Interesting NPC's too. And I'm cruising through the Nexus mods for some neat stuff. Some of the castles look great.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the follower functions for Interesting NPC's conflicts with the mod AFT:Amazing Follower Tweaks, which is too bad. I really like AFT and it still works well with most followers, until you try to dismiss them permanently - they basically stalk you I had to Disable one of the NPC's because the dialogue to dismiss her disappeared once I did it the first time, but she never stopped following. Also, some of the new quests that pop up may have an issue with the compass/map marker. It doesn't happen all the time, but when you have already visited a spot, even though the quest directs you back to it, the compass arrow won't show up, so you'll have to re-locate it on the map. So far those are the only quirks I've found with these. Also, my apologies for filling up this topic with Skyrim mod posts. It's really meant for folks to post what they are playing. Unfortunately, I can't move individual replies, so I'm going to copy/paste my longer posting to another topic dealing with Skyrim mods so we can get this one back on track.
