Yesterday Origins will be available on PC and Mac tomorrow - November 10 and Later in the Month for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Check out the Screens here.

View the trailer here.

Quote:
Paris, 9 November 2016 – Awaited by all Pendulo Studios’ fans and all adventure games’ enthusiasts, Microids and Pendulo Studios celebrate today the release of Yesterday Origins for PC and Mac with an amazing launch trailer! "Developing a game is one of the best things that one can do for a living, and developing Yesterday Origins is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.” Declares Ramón Hernáez, Game Director and co-Founder of Pendulo Studios. “Now we’ll stop having fun with it: it’s the players’ turn to enjoy it as much as we have. We’re sad and happy at the same time and, of course, extremely excited!"

It all began 500 years ago when a young John Yesterday was imprisoned for sorcery by the Spanish Inquisition. After escaping from his cell, he was forced to undergo an alchemic ritual that made him immortal. Whenever he dies, he comes back to life at the age he was when he died for the first time. One problem: every time he comes back to life, he has no memory of the past. During the present day, John lives a quiet life with his immortal partner, Pauline Petit. Together, they leave on a quest to find a special artefact that will allow him to repeat the alchemic ritual correctly so he never loses his memory again.

In Yesterday Origins, gamers immerse themselves in a challenging quest full of unexpected turns, solve complex puzzles and mysterious riddles to discover the origin of the immortal power that so many covet…

Happy Gaming!

Did you inquire if the retail version is Steam free Mad?

Does anyone know if this is a "proper" adventure game like the original? Those who have chatted with me before know I'm very picky! It's not available on Steam yet but on Gamersgate it's tagged as action/adventure. I hate QTEs! I don't want to waste my money if I'm going to hate it.

There is nothing to indicate that it is action. It is however violent and bloody and has adult language so if that offends you, I would not purchase it.

Hi Fellow Boomers,
I'm happy to say that I just installed this game, via STEAM, and it's running perfectly on my WIN 10 computer. I'm learning how to navigate around the screen, and btw, there IS a tutorial included if you have need for it. So far I've been "looking around" at the interface, and practicing with the controls. There is a "hotspot" indicator at the top left of the screen to help find "things" and items that will be necessary to progress in the game. The left mouse button seems to be used for almost everything. My next step is knowing how to get the "hero" out of his "shackles" before he can add to his inventory. Hopefully, a walkthrough will be written for this game. I need all the help I can get to move on from here. YES, that IS a "not so subtle" hint. LOL HAPPY GAMING!
Sandy

Thanks Ana,
I'm playing this game now. The way the inventory, among another things, items, and such are used differently than in any other game I have ever played. It's taken me a little time to get used to the gameplay, but I'm getting used to it, so i'm moving along slowly----REALLY slowly. LOL

I've been looking forward to this (and I don't mind blood and guts! LOL). I am finding the gameplay a little awkward. My cursor has disappeared...a problem mentioned by many on Steam forum. I selected my resolution etc but not sure if I've selected correctly. And I've already had to resort to a video walkthrough! Interested to know how others are getting on.

Hi Lynthorpe,
I just found a text and image walkthrough on the gamepressure.com site. I'm following it now. On that site they refer to "walkthroughs" as "GUIDES", just in case you are looking for the word "walkthrough". I'm just getting used to the controls and the unusual gameplay used in this game, especially the way inventory is used on different items. ENJOY!

I just started the game myself and the mouse cursor problem gave me fits for quite a while. I couldn't highlight anything at all or get it to respond when I would click on it. I then discovered that you need to match the game resolution with your computer's screen resolution. Now it is working great.

I agree that the interface requires some getting used to. I'm still in the prologue.

About the walkthrough that I mentioned on this thread, It only covers the "Prologue" section of the game and one scene in Chapter 1. I'm pretty sure, they will eventually add additional pages to their walkthrough, but for now, it's really incomplete. Sorry if I spoke too soon about this, fellow Boomers.

I have found a video walkthrough in English on Youtube. I'm not sure how far through the game it goes but it's way ahead of me. I'm now in the studio.

I'm not crazy about the interface (though I suppose it's consistent with the original,) but other than that, I'm really enjoying the game so far. Most people here have gotten a lot farther than me. It's been a crazy week for me, so I haven't made it past the prologue yet. lol Looking forward to playing some more this weekend. thumbsup

Sorry to hear some of you are having technical issues. frown Hopefully, they'll get those resolved soon.

We seriously need a text WT for this game....MaG!!! I've got fairly far with a little help from the video but there's a lot of repetitive time-wasting. This game needs a WT which only deals with the things you HAVE to do not all the side-tracking stuff. I'm not crazy about the interface either especially with a mouse. I don't have a controller so it's very awkward.

Hi oldman,
Since you have the game, do you see any way to access the game resolution?
There was that "settings screen" that popped up the first time you start the game, but there is a question in Glitches about what to do if that "settings screen" isn't appearing any more.

There's a positive review of the Playstation 4 version here
http://wccftech.com/review/yesterday-origins-review-live-forever/
He probably wasn't using a mouse with his PS4.

Beats me. Fortunately I changed the resolution when the settings screen popped up. However since I've changed the resolution to match my desktop the settings thingy no longer pops up.
