Neofeud will be releasing March 25th. Check out the screens here. View the trailer here. 2033 - We create AI. Sentient robots arrive, but not as our Terminator overlords or our Singularity saviors -- conscious machines are humanity's unwanted [blip] children. A few are geniuses who design flying cars, beat cancer, invent teleportation, but millions of defective prototypes roll out of factories -- mentally challenged, motivationally-challenged, criminally-inclined. Legally conscious, but unhirable, these "Defectives" are shuffled through public housing and welfare assistance, straining the already overburdened back of the meager social safety net. The robots who don't end up in prison are dumped, as a last resort, into a massive landfill known as "The Pile".
Humans engage in perfection of their species -- or at least the powerful and well-connected -- genetically engineering children with the human and animal DNA. The failed eugenics experiment "Frankenpeople" are discarded into "The Pile" as well. The new dynasties, 'Neofeudal Lords', live in towering neon glass castles, shuttle around in pristine nanotech-enabled pods, minds and bodies full of cyberware, spending most of their time taking selfies and "optimizing their monetization schemes". A race of supermen concerned only with their own status, their prestige, their success. Where machines have become all too flawed and human, people have become flawless, perfect, cold machines.
Karl Carbon is an ex-cop, dishonorably discharged from Coastlandia PD for disobeying an order to shoot an unarmed sentient humanoid. Karl is exiled to "The Pile" as a lowly social worker. There he counsels gangbanging foster-kid robots and confiscates chimera-children from deadbeat half-wolf parents. Till one day a case goes horribly sideways and and Karl is drawn into a sordid conspiracy that could threaten the strained fabric of Human-Robot-Hybrid civilization -- or save it.
Happy Gaming! Ana

I'll pass. I have no interest in games or movies that confuse machines and humans. A machine no matter how advanced is not a living thing.

Hi everyone, this is Silverspook, the creator of Neofeud. Thanks for all of your feedback and thanks BrownEyedTiger for posting on GameBoomers. Just letting everyone know that Neofeud has a Steam Greenlight campaign if you are interested in voting for it. In addition, I am working on a Neofeud Let's Play series if you want to see more of Neofeud in-game. The let's play was initially created as a walkthrough for players who picked up the game and got stuck, so I am not fully exploring the game and am quickly completing the puzzles to give people hints, but it will give you a feel of the game. Thanks again!

Hi guys, here's a great review of Neofeud that was just published yesterday: http://www.indiegamenews.com/2017/07/review-neofeud.html"From the makeshift, provisional, use-what-you-can-find architecture of the slums, through the neon-lit gangland underworld to the obscenely green grass of the skyborne islands, the art in Neofeud follows the modern trend of saturated dystopias such as Fury Road..."
"The conspiracy runs deep and is quite massive in scope. Politics meet technology, philosophy meets madness. But even beyond the intrigue itself the world of Neofeud is quite a detailed and intriguing construct, with its own history and lore..."
"Everything about the game just oozes the love for sci-fi: the literary cyberpunk and the 80's and 90's movies...."

http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/games/1/36/35501/thumb_620x2000/NeofeudSale20.pngHere are some of the reviews that have just come out on Neofeud recently: "This is an ambitious, atmospheric cyberpunk scenario and essentially the work of a single person (voice acting excluded). Oh, and it might also be one of the best adventure games I have played in a while, so there's that."
Granted, a lot of this is "just" good cyberpunk in the vein of Gibson, Dick, and Stephenson. However, the world building is something else. It has a thickness, a density to it. Almost every line of the game's technobabble fleshes out the game world some more. If that's your thing, the game is immensely enjoyable."
Indie Games "I did not know what to expect going into Neofeud, but I came out excited to see what’s next for Silver Spook Games. The game has more than the surface indicates, which I loved. It offers social commentary, much like its many influences, but successfully stands on its own.
In the end, the art, gameplay, music and story come together to deliver a solid game. Check it out if you are looking for something different and cerebral."
Indie Ranger"I love how the game has many humorous references to well known movies, like Hasta La Vista from Terminator or the song War by Edwin Starr, used in Rush Hour. But Neofeud also shows how terribly ridiculous our bureaucracy system works. Or better said; does not work at all. Forms, tests, procedures, all working against each other without any result whatsoever.
Neofeud is developed by just one man. Especially when you keep that in mind, I think the game looks good and definitely has its own signature look. The background is hand drawn, while buildings and characters are designed in a comic style. The point-and-click mechanism works great and the developer wanted to offer players more than just a fun game." Dumee Gamer

Another quick update: Neofeud has it's first update that implements a bunch of fixes to makes for a smoother, better gaming experience! Here's the full post:"Hey cyberpunks, humanoids, Neofeudal lords and ladies! Thanks for your support of Neofeud! In response to your feedback, I've fixed and patched up several of Neofeud's important issues. This latest update should smooth out and make for a better overall game experience. To try out this update beta, simply: 1.) Right click on "Neofeud" in your Steam Library. 2.) Click on "Properties". 3.) Click on the "Betas" tab. 4.) Chose to opt in to the beta in the drop-down box. I would greatly appreciate feedback on this update, so that I can ensure it improves the game for all systems and is stable. Help me make Neofeud the best game it can be! Bug Fixes - The Arcade Fight scene is now clearer, and less unnecessarily difficult and confusing. Getting away from the bar is simpler, and there's more time to handle the escape when being shot at by the SWAT behind the Kill Machine arcade game. -Fixed the bug where you would get stuck in the arm screen if you use it during fight with Talos. -Fixed bug where in the elevator (when you are with the security guards), if you click out of the elevator through the exit option, you could get stuck, and have to reload a previous save state to get out of it. -Can no longer save the game from the start menu which would overwrite your progress. -Fixed error message in High City, after 'giant spider area' 'in "room42.asc", line 326 Error:Face Character: characters are in different rooms' -Fixed issue where 'firing your big object' in the High City office at the wrong time caused problems. -Fixed issue where, while following the robot girl, if you get out of range before she appears, the game will crash trying to load two savestates at the same time -Various typos cleaned, bugs squashed, wrinkles ironed. Thanks for all of your support and help! -Silver Spook"

Ana- there are a couple of scenes with some action, but it is basically just a timed point-and-click puzzle. These sections of the game are similar to parts of Gemini Rue (by Wadjet Eye Games). Having played this excellent game I can confirm that apart from one scene which was a little tricky & easier than in Gemini Rue (which an update I understand has made easier) there is a dearth of action scenes! There's probably no more than a couple of gentle timed events which are very doable even if you are lacking in reflexes! It's a wonderful point & click game set in the future with a lot of 'social message' relevant to current events & the way the world is. If you are a fan of the point & click style of the 'old classics' you may enjoy this game - if you're not sure there's a demo available!

Neofeud is now 25% off for the Halloween Steam Sale, if you’re more inclined to have Neofeud on Steam! (I hadn’t intended the two sales to be so close but being new to Steam, I didn’t realize there was a Halloween sale, oops!)

Here's another recent review that just came in for Neofeud: Neofeud is a dystopian cyberpunk adventure that needs to be experienced. [...]
When we think of a cyberpunk dystopia we imagine a world controlled by robots or an evil AI, and a place where humans are in the down low, trying to survive day by day in the gutter. What happens when someone turns these tropes to their head and this world is filled with discarded androids that live in slums, drug addicted and oppressed by multi billion neofeudal corporations? Neofeud, a cyberpunk point and click adventure created by Christian Miller offers an answer to this question. [...]
An adventure that will offer you many hours of play and it will make you think about our world and where it is heading. Not many indie games do that, and it is really important. Hyper Light Up

Hey guys! So I have recently had the pleasure of talking to Mark Yohalem, writer of the Wadjet Eye point-and-click adventure game Primordia for my podcast, which does involve talking about Neofeud and the state adventure games generally speaking. https://i.imgur.com/0xNoyuG.jpghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqiAvh0p81A&t=3407s"In this episode, Silver Spook speaks with Mark Yohalem, writer of Primordia, a legendary sci-fi point-and-click adventure game and a big inspiration behind Neofeud. Mark and yours truly discuss the State of Adventure Games which somewhat resembles that of Schrodinger's Cat (never quite alive or dead!), Primordia and the making thereof, Mark's exciting new 'mythological, mid-apocalypse RPG' in development with Wormwood Studios, some insider game-dev shop-talk, Unity vs Adventure Game Studio pros and cons, Mark's and my favorite cyberpunk, the difference between depressing and melancholy, the psychological selling-points of post-apocalypses, why appellate lawyers may be cannibal shishkebabs in said apocalypse, and much more!"

Thanks, Ana! Two more days to vote, if anyone was still thinking about it. Also here's a recent review of Neofeud, and I wish I was fluent in Spanish so I could read what the reviewer is saying in their native language. But thank you, Google Translate! "A much more complex world than what is shown in Blade Runner, which inspired it, and this game also poses itself as a more in-depth and realistic reflection of the dilemma insinuated by the replicants."
"From the point of view of music and dubbing Neofeud has nothing to envy of major titles."
"Neofeud is an old-fashioned point-and-click, which really reminded me of Space Quest in setting and graphics. The story takes place in a hypothetical 2033, where artificial self-conscious intelligences are now reality. Self-awareness, however, has consequences, first of all the affirmation as an individual and, as such, with rights and desires. This involves a whole new slice of society trying to integrate into the already existing human one. War veterans, domestic workers, workers, each with a different level of consciousness, which determines their rights. Just one percentage point to finish at the same level as vacuum cleaners, while experiencing real emotions and sensations."
"If you are not captured by the story of the protagonist, it will be the game world that will intrigue you and push you to explore each scene and dialogue from beginning to end." The reviewer also compared Neofeud with Neil Blomkamp and District 9, which is a high complement for me, since I consider D-9 as one of if not the greatest sci-fi films of the past few decades. https://nerdando.com/2017/12/04/neofeud-unavventura-cyberpunk-profonda-e-retro/

NEOFEUD MADE IT TO THE TOP 100 INDIES OF THE YEAR! Thanks everyone for your votes and support! Neofeud is one of the top 3 point-and-click games, and can now use your vote again in the final round for ultimate indie of the year on IndieDB! http://www.indiedb.com/games/neofeud Also, the next Silver Spook Podcast will be coming soon here: https://www.youtube.com/user/twiliteminotaurYou can support future Silver Spook Games and Silver Spook Podcasts, where I help great indie game makers and other creators get the word out about their games, over here: https://www.patreon.com/neofeudFinally, here is one more recent review from Save Or Quit: "Neofeud is a carefully crafted story that plays out like an interactive detective/mystery movie from the 80’s... This is a game for players who like to enjoy a good science fiction story set in a world that feels familiar and possible in the near future." http://saveorquit.com/2017/12/03/review-neofeud/

So The Space Quest Historian is currently doing a playthrough of Neofeud. It was also featured on Funhaus, a pretty big (1.3 million subscriber) Youtube channel, by Rooster Teeth productions. That was pretty cool! And also, an endorsement from Wormwood Studios, maker of Primordia: "Neofeud is an interesting game, and @SilvrSpookGames is an even more interesting person." Primordia is one of my favorite point and clicks, so that means a lot! <3 <3 Neofeud is also still on sale on Steam till January 6. :)

Neofeud is on sale on Gamejolt! "A sci-fi dystopia borne of the minds of every prominent science fiction writer from the past century... H.R. Giger to Ridley Scott... Gripping mastery of storytelling" --Sprites And DiceIn addition, I will be livestreaming the Adventure Game Studio Awards this Saturday March 24th at 20:00 CET from my Youtube channel with live commentary. Neofeud has been nominated for seven awards including Game of The Year, Best Writing, Best Art, Best Characters. I hear the voting was extremely close, so it's anybody's competition, though.

Thanks oldbroad and BrownEyedTigre. We're ok, and the eruption appears to have stabilized at this point, thankfully. Some drawers opened up and cereal boxes fell down during one of the earthquakes, but that's the worst we got of it, thankfully. The Neofeud sale is still on and if you liked the game itself, there's is now the Neofeud Short Story Collection and the Neofeud Sountrack that won AGS best soundtrack of the year, also on sale.

Neofeud is 60% off right now! https://store.steampowered.com/app/673850/Neofeud/Here's one of the recent reviews: "Wow, what a journey. Took me more than 12 hours, and it felt like I played through 2-3 sci-fi games, that's how much content is in the game. The art style is something I've never seen in video games... if you like Wadjet-Eye Games, this is up your alley." --Steam Reviewer

Neofeud sale ends today! Here's one of the recent reviews: "Neofeud is an absolute gem of interactive cyberpunk storytelling. The thrilling, vibrant scenes of this reality-bending adventure unmask the gritty, dystopian society that awaits us in a not-so-distant future. The twists and turns of this indie masterpiece will change the way you think about technology, empires, and the societies that take shape within them. Satisfying puzzles, loads of unique artwork, and a strong character-driven narrative make this a game I can't recommend highly enough!" --Super FuzzyAlso re timed-actioney parts: there's not much of that.

Neofeud's on sale this week! "Of all the point and click adventure games I've played, which over the years is quite a few, I enjoyed Neofeud the most." --Steam Reviewer https://store.steampowered.com/app/673850/Neofeud/Also yes; hoping to finish it sooner than later myself!

Neofeud is 70% off! One of the latest reviews: "Neofeud is one of my favorite adventure games as of late. It has awesome retro graphics, great voice acting, and a story that illustrates real world injustices and actually makes you stop and think for a minute about the future. If you like puzzles and character driven stories that will reel you in, check it out."
