sorry you folks lost your board, but you will love it here at the Gameboomers !! They are absolutely wonderful. if they can help you in any way they will. from glitches to walkthroughs and if they don't know something they WILL find out! Trust me i know...this is the first place i go before i get a game and after! One thing i do have to say...Dreamcatcher/The Adventure Co. does not have good support for the games they release. i have never been able to figure out why either, it is not a new problem - has gone on for years. You are better off here at the 'boomers!

TAC only publish the games, they're not responsible for all of the flaws, i have almost all of their games and was satisfied, with a lot of the titles they published.

Sorry about my negativity, i will behave in the future.

I edited my first post and erased the negative part in it.

danyboy, frown I am so sorry if you felt my comments were directed to you. You have as much right to vent here as anyone else does. I can only imagine how I'd feel if one second GB was here and the next gone without a warning. My post was merely meant to help put it in perspective before it got out of hand, definitely NOT to say that any of you were wrong in your opinions! So please take this as an apology if anyone thought my post was directed towards any one of you.

Hi guys,

No problemo, Ana, i prefer to call you Ana if you don't mind, it's more easy for a French Canadian like me.

Yes i was mad yesterday, i was a member of the TAC forums almost since the beginning, i saw TAC evolution over those years and when it started to grow and separate action from adventure, open a branch in Europe, a lot of those things take a lot of time, moderators were switching from action to adventure forums a lot of members to satisfy, I'm just wondering if they didn't became too big in a short amount of time.

I'm a member here since August 2003, i posted few times, I'm around this forums a lot of time, snooping around without posting.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome.

I'm sad the TAC forums don't exist anymore.

Perhaps in the future, who knows.

Poor us, scattered all over the net. Finding a place to meet our friends again.

And on our travels, we will meet again, somewhere, someday smile

Hi Logan -- it's great to 'see' you again. wave

IMO -- sometimes constructive criticism is warranted; and sometimes it helps to 'vent' in an appropriate way. It's not WHAT you say so much, as HOW you say it. The "how" part became a big problem in the TAC forum. Generally, the forum became tense and angry; and we lost our sense of playfulness and FUN. Again, just IMO.

Hi Katsmom, Danyboy, Logan and others. I have been a member here for awhile also, started asking for help with my games when my questions would get lost in the arguments at TAC. Over here someone always tries to help you, you won't get ignored, I love it. I also lost some PM,s but they weren't nice ones so I don't care. I think it all happened when I was sleep welcome

I really think that if it weren't for MrLipid's research into getting Forever Worlds to run on Win 98, that TAC still wouldn't have a clue about how to handle the problems with it that occur on Win 98.

I checked the Tech forum over on the Dreamcatcher (action) side and they seem to be doing a wonderful job of ignoring requests for help over there. I wonder whether they're planning to close that forum down too.

welcome to the friendliest adventure game forum on the net Katsmom, Logan, and Danyboy! laugh

Far as tech support goes, I always seem to be better off looking for suggestions here on GB. Not many companies have the time, resources, and patience to work out all the ways something can go wrong.

Sure you will, danyboy! And if you make a mistake, it will more than likely be easily corrected, so no worries! It's much simpler than it looks at first glance. Lucky for all of us, Syd is a benevolent dictator. laugh

Hi Katsmom, Danyboy, Hawkavonpuka, Logan...thanks Hawka for reminding me of this forum. I've been re-acquainting myself with this place and realize that this really is the best place to get your game questions answered.
I really miss the TAC forums, and wonder what happened to all the Nancy Drews over there, but it's really nice to find all of you here, too.

Too funny danyboy - that must be some scary stuff at your house! Where I live has long had a reputation for being haunted, so the kids look but don't come all the way up the hill for candy either (but we're not nice like you, we eat all the candy ourselves - "OH darn, another Halloween with no kids coming to get this candy...) lol <img border="0" alt="bravo" title="" src="graemlins/bravo.gif " />

I'd just like to reiterate the general theme of this thread - - Welcome to former TAC members and you've found the Garden of Eden in Adventure message boards at Gameboomers.

We may have some forceful statements but in almost 100% of the cases, nothing gets taken too personal or inordinately serious - - it's only games we're talking about anyway! I haven't seen any signs of the moderators going around shouting "I am THE BOSS of you!" Welcome!

Susan -- thanks for your warm welcome to us. I think TAC tech support staff members were monitored by their corporate bosses, and were given a 'safe' script to follow. At least, in the public forum. So yes, I think GB will be a better place to ask technical questions and receive help. wink
