On the download page for The Mysterious Codex there is also a link for a save game file, but there is no explanation of its purpose. Why might I have a need for this save game file?

I don't remember exactly why I placed that there but I can see from some old notes that it had something to do with skipping episodes. But as long as the game runs fine you don't need it.
