Picking up on earlier posts about masks and fogging spectacles, I have ended up making my own mask to fit up fairly close under my eyes and the nose piece of the glasses, but open/ventilated below the chin. I was also worried about using porous material and have therefore used a clear plastic file folder + sellotape, lining it underneath with paper kitchen towel for added comfort: an added advantage is that I have been able to fit the earpieces of the glasses through it to help hold it in place, while also securing it with ties at the back. Makes me at least feel safer when in the store and doesn't actually look too bad (in any event who cares?), although I did also devise a full face visor of the same material initially and wear the glasses over it... The only alternative appears to be a properly fitted and therefore expensive medical quality mask assuming you can actually source one!

Well done, Lex! My step-daughter is making masks too. I think they are 4 layers and have a pocket for one of the carbon filters. She had a hard time finding elastic, but dug around in an old box and scored some there.
Everyone should be aware these porous cloth masks aren't going to stop YOU from getting something, but rather will help stop you from transmitting anything. As someone said elsewhere, "I take care of you and you take care of me!" I like that thought!

I liked the second one, too. I thought that if hand sanitizer made in Hagatha's local distillery can smell like vodka, why not complement it with a bit of Jack Daniels for your countertops? I was thinking the same. Ours even comes in a spray bottle, just like the picture. You could go for the snob appeal versions with $500 bottles of scotch. We've been hearing horror stories about the lineups to get into Costco and avoided it until now because we didn't want to risk it, but had to go today because we were out of our coffee. We decided to try going at dinner time, and avoided all the lining up and frantic shopping we'd been expecting. They were only allowing about ten people in at a time, and I guess they were waiting for people to leave before letting in more. We must have arrived just at the right time because we got in right away, and there were no lineups at the till either. The shelves were completely stocked, too.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Coffee, AND toilet paper. Bales and bales of toilet paper in the store. We never did get close to running out at home. Nonetheless, I bought a pack of 40 to keep in the garage because you never know... You know, this is a pretty small town and everyone seems to know everyone else, and so far there don't seem to be any cases of COVID here. I know that can change at any moment, but apparently we only have about 30 active cases on the whole of Vancouver Island at the moment, and I suspect most of them are in Victoria. People here have been taking the social distancing and isolating very seriously. Some non-essential stores are open but only allowing one shopper in at a time, like the local shoe store (but, you know new shoes really ARE essential, amiright? I mean, it's SHOES. ) . I really hope all of our local small businesses survive. We can't afford to lose any.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

This isn't covid related, it just made me laugh: Groundhog Enjoying PizzaThat little guy is awesome, he's like, "Yeah, I'm eating your pizza, what you gonna do about it?" to the dogs
“A world is supported by four things: The learning of the wise, the justice of the great, the prayers of the righteous and the valor of the brave. But all of these things are as nothing, without a ruler who knows the art of ruling. Make that the science of your tradition!” ---------------- Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam, from the novel Dune

Love it Trail! I have raccoons that come everyday that stare in my patio door every night. They aren't afraid of my dog either.
