If your friend is on the same server as you, your friend's camp icon on the map is yellow, just like yours, and you can fast-travel to it for free. Other players' camp icons are white, and you need caps to fast-travel to them.

If your friend is not on your server, go to the social menu, click your friend's name, and go directly to that server. I believe you will be spawned right next to your friend.

If your camp's icon is greyed out on the map, that means it is deactivated, and can be activated with no loss to any structure.

Thank you!

I'll be back in there in a day or two, and ready to build a new camp.

EDIT: July 17th.

I've been doing as many of the Mutated events as I can and had four of the special Mutated goody packs in my inventory. One of them had The Fixer crafting plan. That was a nice surprise. I managed to craft a Quad on one. Very handy.

I'm currently playing The Chant and loving it. Over 30 hours so far!
Quite a bit of fighting but not very difficult to kill monsters if you play with the easiest mode.

Hi, teassoc! I've never heard of The Chant. Am going to check it out.

So, frustrated with Fallout London issues I went back to Fallout 76. The latest update/DLC has some questionable "improvements" but by and large I'm still enjoying it. My favourite aspect is that you can create three or four different builds for one character, so I have the Sneak/Rifle build, the Crafting build, and now, with my new favourite heavy gun, the Heavy build. You can switch back and forth between them depending on the challenge. Lots of of un.

Make sure the 1.01 update was installed correctly for Fallout London. You should see "V1.01" at the top right corner of the main menu (screenshot). Some mods may silently prevent the 1.01 from being installed, which was what happened to me. I had to uninstall the mods, uninstall and reinstall Fallout London, apply the 1.01 update, make sure "V1.01" is on the main menu, then put the other mods back in. I had gone a few days thinking I had the 1.01 update but in fact I didn't. After actually getting the update, I was able to progress on a couple of quests that had been bugged before the update. Lots of other bugs still exist, though.

I'm also playing the new update in Fallout 76. Legendary items are now scrappable, but there is only a 1% chance to unlock a legendary effect from scrapping. I was lucky enough to unlock the plan for the Bloody effect.

A 1 percent chance is odds I'm not willing to take.

I got an Endurance legendary on my second try scrapping but nothing since in about fifteen tries and I'm not willing to waste the bird in the hand for the one in the bush. I think everyone got one right off the bat just to get people interested. I'd rather stick with the old way of crafting Legendaries. I already have an arsenal of Quads anyway and I just got one each of Bertha and Helga. I also have an awesome plasma pistol with very high damage.

I'll try to get FOLON working again. I was enjoying it.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The old way of crafting legendary items is a lot costlier now. It is less costly if you get legendary items from gameplay -- events, expeditions, daily ops, etc. -- then scrap them if needed. Rusty Pick is selling legendaries at 25% off, so I've bought about a hundred. I've crafted some legendaries myself. If I see effects I want to unlock, I scrap those items. Scrapping 3-star items is preferred because each star is a 1% dice roll, and you get to make 3 rolls from one item. So far I've unlocked 7 effects: plans for Bloodied, Hardy, and VATS Enhanced, mods for Instigating, Rapid, Frozen, and Swift. Mods can only be used once on an item. Plans let you craft any number of legendary mods, but they are expensive to craft, unsurprisingly.

I spent the entire day jumping from one event to another and scrapping the legenday reward items, and I got not a single Legendary mod or plan. I'm still not convinced...

Same here. I didn't unlock anything today even though I was quite active. But we have forever to unlock them so it's not in a hurry. The more legendaries you can get (and scrap), the better. So this update encourages you to play all the events, daily ops, expeditions, etc., anything that rewards legendary items, legendary modules, scrips, etc. One expedition rewards 6 legendaries alone. Each mutated event rewards a "mutated pack" that rewards a guaranteed 3-star legendary item.

I haven't joined any expeditions yet. But I must have scrapped at least 30 items today and still nothing!

EDIT: another full day, and...nothing. Not a single thing. I must have scrapped 75 items today, emptied out all the Legendary weapons and armour I was saving just in case.

It's a mug's game. I'm going back to finishing up the questlines.

I've heard that sometimes even if you unlock something, you don't see a notification on the screen. You need go to your tinkerer's workbench -> legendary mods to see how many plans you've unlocked. Also, check under the mod section of your inventory and stash to see if you've unlocked any legendary mods. You might've got something that you weren't aware that you had got.

It was very fruitful (relatively speaking) for me today. The first 5 items I scrapped, I unlocked twice. Altogether I've unlocked 4 plans and about 8 mods, in the first week. This is like gambling (not like, but is) -- you are bound to get a hot streak or a cold streak or two, or three.

I have checked, and I've got nothing since the one mod box. I must have scrapped well over 200 items by now. Not worth bothering. What a waste. I'd be better going back to rolling my own, I think.

Also, I just realized that the Expeditions and Friends icons are no longer showing up on my map. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps.

If you roll your items, you can only do it just once, and only on non-legendary items. If an item is already legendary, the workbench doesn't give you the option of re-rolling it like in the old system. You have to attach legendary mods, and that means you need to start unlocking them sooner or later, or buy mods from other players. As I said, you are bound to get a good streak.

I still haven't had that good streak. Of all the items I've scrapped I've received two mods, and that's over 6 days of hitting every event. My luck doesn't seem to be changing.

On the other hand. I now have a wonderful 3-star Railway Rifle that I got from one of the Mutated events. It's powerful, plus it has that silly steam hoot when you reload.

Legendary crafting in Fallout 76 also adds something to the Fallout lore: we finally know what the legendary effects are made of! In Fallout 4, we are never told who make legendary items and how; they just exist. But Fallout 76 finally answers those questions: (1) the players make the legendary items, LOL, and (2) the legendary effects are created with ingredients that most resemble those effects. For instance, Explosive legendary is made of Explosives Bobbleheads. Cloaking is made with Stealth Boy. Troubleshooter is made with circuits (the junk item). Unyielding, which adds bonus SPECIAL, is made of X-Cell, which also does the same. Most players probably don't care, but I find this fascinating from a lore perspective.

Finally after about ten days of being almost skunked, I now have six plans and a bunch of mods.

I don't know how I missed this before, but the Eviction Notice event always has about 15-20 legendary drops. Once I started cashing in on that event, which happens a couple of times a day right now, I had lots of Legendary items to scrap. It made a huge difference.

Some of the recipes are interesting (and expensive!). The Rapid mod, for which I have the recipe, requires a Speed Demon serum. I also have the Lightweight recipe, which, given it's a useful third effect, will come in handy for my weapons.

I'm now firmly an Automatic Railway Rifle fan. I've got one with Anti-Armour, which can handle almost all circumstances. I'm trying to decide if I should try to roll a Quad.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

"Ticket to Heaven" is a great Bloodied railway rifle with double clip size, and it's a guaranteed reward when you finish the Skyline Valley questline (related to Vault 63). But unfortunately it has been buggy since Season 18 started. Bethesda is aware of this and will fix it in the next update. If you already got Ticket to Heaven, hold on to it.

You must have stolen my lucky mojo, because I'm the exact opposite of you: I haven't unlocked any legendary plans or mods in the last 10 days. So far I've unlocked 8 plans and 10 mods, but all in the previous 10 days.

I think I must have sold Ticket to Heaven, unfortunately, as it would have been back in the days when I was using Fixer. The anti-armour version is very powerful, though. As long as I'm not getting swarmed I can take out most enemies pretty quickly.

I think I'll try rolling a quad on a new Railway Rifle, since it's a one-star legendary and doesn't cost too many modules. I have 500 of them right now.

My other weapon of choice is Bertha, the tesla rifle. Great for mobs. Between the two, I can handle almost anything. I also have an automatic Enclave Plasma Rifle with a flamer barrel, recently dropped as a reward for an Enclave event. I gather that last one is a bit of a unicorn, rarely dropped. That one melts almost anything.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The gun is called "Ticket to Revenge," I should say. During play-testing, it was a Bloodied legendary. But when Skyline Valley launched, it turned into a Furious legendary instead (damage increases after every hit). And when Season 18 launched, all its legendary effects were gone. Bethesda said they would fix it in the next update.

Ah. Well, I'm doing okay with my Bertha and my Railway Rifle, playing a defensive role in events like Eviction Notice, where I lam the person who repairs the rad scrubber and doesn't go far afield from it, because everyone else seems to forget.

I'm still getting between one and three mods and plans every day. I just got a sweet plan -- Secret Agent. But the Anti-armour and Quad are elusive, even in mod box form.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

What you are all saying about Fallout 76 makes me think that I should give it a try, although I cannot help thinking that perhaps there is too much of an open world environment at the expense of any clear objective to appeal to my rather selective tastes! zombie

Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Fallout 76 is like Fallout 4's survival mode plus even more punishing mechanics. Fast-traveling costs you caps. Crafting plans for weapon and armor mods have to be "unlocked" individually. You can have diseases, and disease-curing chems are rare. Enemies go up to level 100, and the toughest ones are much tougher than the toughest ones in Fallout 4 at very hard difficulty. But the single biggest difference between Fallout 76 and 4 is hordes, hordes, and more hordes. MUCH of Fallout 76's gameplay involving you fighting enemy hordes, one way or another. 10 to 20 (and more) enemies charging at you for several minutes is a common sight. This is what separates single-player and multiplayer games.

On the other hand, Lex, I am enjoying it and I'm a relative noob when it comes to MMO's. I haven't had much trouble getting by in the game and at level 280 now I have great armour and weapons and a jet pack (!!!!).

You can start at level 20 if you want, and I recommend it. The game does lead you through quests via your journal so you always know what you're supposed to do. It's open world, but the world is very small and you always know where to go and what to do just by either looking at your map or your journal. Events pop up all the time, too, and you can jump right in with your fellow players. You get the hang of it pretty fast. Of course you can wander around and do your own thing, too, but you don't have to.

As with all Fallout games, there's a lot of silliness, like a very British robot with a giant teapot who needs help making a proper cup of tea, which naturally involves much shooting and mayhem.

The thing I noticed about the game is that the community is very nice and helpful, for the most part. I've only seen a few instances of bad behaviour. It's frowned upon.
