This and Myst were two of the original games that were just too hard for me. I was always more into the games with humor and puzzles like the Monkey Island series.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Thanks, oldbroad. Yeah, I don't come here very often these days. Still playing and enjoying adventure games, though We are currently playing Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy. We think its a solid, good game. For XP, the graphics are really excellent and technically it is almost flawless. One has to cook too many recipes, though ;-) Edit: I am wondering why thy changed the name then. That is what confused me

Omg, I just checked our excel where we list ALL adventures we have played so far and it turns out we played riddle of the sphinx in 2014 (I can tell the year because we have a separate tab per year). We gave it a B rating, so yes it was good. I checked youtube and only then memories came back. We played too many games (we started in 2001, so we have been playing adventures since over 20 years now :-)

I don't know what "CRS" stands for but plenty of us Gameboomers go WAY further back than 2001 with our mis-spent hours of game playing 😝😝😝

@oldborad : CRS lol Regarding the start of playing adventure games in 2001, this is only the start in terms of when Jochen and I started playing together/playing the same adventure in parallel. My gaming career started way earlier in I would say around 1985 or so. On a good old C64. Of course, at that age, I did play all sort of games, basically pretty much every genre. Also a few point and click adventure like the classics Maniac Manion, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones and so on. The older I got, the more I focused on adventures and role playing games (I LOVED the Ultima series, I still think Ultima IV and V were ground-breaking back then). Due to time constraints, as an adult, I only play adventures since 2001 and don't play role-playing games anymore. Sigh, so many games to play, so little time for it.... Also, in regards to the comment of Mad, I am aware that there are many older gamers here. Does that mean you are experts in terms of really old DOS-Adventure games and can recommend some? Of course I am aware of classics like King's Quest, Space Quest etc but I guess there must be some good solid older DOS-adventure games I cannot know because they were not so great to become well-known classics but are still good. Eg. only yesterday I stumbled upon a website called dosgames.com, in particular about this game with the longest name ever: 'The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian' (see https://dosgames.com/game/the-adventures-of-maddog-williams-in-the-dungeons-of-duridian/ ) How on earth should I know whether this game is worth playing? It would be nice to know someone who has an overview over the adventure games of the DOS area and can recommend games of that area. So have you guys played during that time?

Just a flying visit to provide THIS link. I would need time (which I don't have right now) to try to remember which of the games games I played and which I felt were good
