Currently reading through the Ender books. On book three "Xenocide". Fascinating stuff.

I also recently read though the entire Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer as I've never read anything by him before. Really enjoyed each novel (one or two small quibbles aside).

Lex, I didn't read the Discworld books until he'd already written about 35 of them. I've got the entire series in paperback, including the so-called children's books.

Sadly, the very last volume in the series should probably not have been published. It lacks the wit and satire that were the hallmark of his writing. I know his daughter took over and completed the book, but it is a sad footnote to one of the funniest book series ever written.

I finished and really enjoyed Weir's The Martian. The thing I like most about it is the main character, stranded on Mars, uses real science to solve his problems. I think I'm going to have to see the movie now, just to see how well they followed the book. Last night I started Project Hail Mary by the same author, and I think it's going to be another winner for me.

I started the Discworld series quite late as well, and read them in the order they were written. I love the way the characters develop throughout the series and switch from starring to supporting roles and back again from book to book.

I've watched the movie twice because I loved it so much! Read the book twice too!

Lady Kestrel, we really enjoyed the film. It's definitely worth watching.

Right now I'm reading The Hunger, by Alma Katsu. It's horror/suspense, a fictionalized account of what might have happened to the Donner party. It's pretty good, well-written and quite spooky.

I just got this one on my Kindle app! Looking forward to starting it tonight.

I finished Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary last night and highly recommend it. Again there's a lone character using science to solve problems, but this time it focuses on biology and space and saving the earth. I don't want to put in any spoilers based on the way the story unfolds, but it's a good one.

How am I supposed to resist this!!! Just downloaded My Brother's Destroyer by Clayton Lindemuth.

Haha. Who could resist that, indeed! I'm checking it out, since I seem to be on a horror spree.

All of a sudden I have reading ennui, starting books and then casting them aside. This happens from time to time. It's probably time for me to go back to streaming TV for a while.

Back to the classics! It's been a very long time since I read Del Rey.

I've started reading the Two Of Swords trilogy, by KJ Parker.

So far, I really like the writing. It reminds me of Joe Abercrombie.

I finished the Baer Creighton book last night! It definitely did not disappoint!

I enjoyed the Kindle sample, but am still unsure whether I could tolerate the writing style for a whole book...

I'm rereading the Riyira Series (Chronicles and Revelations). One of my favorite series that it had been way too long since I read.

I'm still really enjoying the Two of Swords books. Wonderful.

The Naked Sun by Asimov

Finished Riyiria. Started Age of Myth, which is the first book in the Age of legends series by the same author (Michael J Sullivan)

I really enjoyed Sullivan's Riyria books but for some reason The Myth books didn't catch me. He is one of my favorite authors overall.
I've been read a lot of Joe Abercrombie and Sarah J Maas Throne of Glass books.

looney have you read Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson or the Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch?

Space Quest, I have read Lies of Locke Lamora and loved it, though one of the follow on books kind of lost me.

I finished the Myth books and started the first book of Sullivan's newest series, Nolyn. I've only had a second to read, but I've enjoyed it so far.

I have Warbreaker, and it's on my "list" to read. I love Sanderson's books.

I have seen Joe Abercrombie and Throne of Glass recommended on other sites, but haven't gotten to them yet. Did you read them? Did you like them?

I don't do a lot of rereading, but as i knew Nolyn was releasing this month I really wanted to refresh my memory.

Joe Abercrombie is what I would call tough-guy fantasy. No fancy-pantsy elven dagger-twirlers. It's very, very good. If there was a game equivalent it would be Gothic.

He's a talented writer and its time I got back to his books. I have a few in the basement in the boxes that never got unpacked after our move.

looney I really liked the Throne of Glass series but just know that I would consider it a young adult series. If you like Outer Banks on Netflix you will like Throne of Glass.

Joe Abercrombie is one of my favorite authors but he is what I would classify as a dark fantasy wtiter. His First Law series and the stand alone Best Served Cold are my favorite works by him.

I totally agree with you about the follow up to Locke. It was a real disappointment to me. I kind of felt the same way about Sanderson's Mistborn series. I loved the first book but to me it seemed to go downhill with each following book. I'm betting that you are going to love Warbreaker though. Sanderson also has a short novella The Emperor's Soul that was excellent.

Thanks for the heads up on Sullivan's new series. i will give it a look. Thanks to hagatha too for The Two Swords suggestion. K.J. Parker is a very good writer.
