Hello Boomers, hope you are well! Bright but cold here today! Washing and some ironing for me today which I don't mind, and online grocery shopping too, which is a godsend for us. Enjoy your day, everyone! Much love! Mary

We will get another bunch of snow today: 6 to7 inches. Going out soon to clean the sidewalk. All have a nice day.

Chief, I remember living in that kind of snow for months at a time -- I lived in Toronto for many years when I was growing up. We may have gloom and dark here in BC, but at least it's warm (ish) most of the time!

Getting to downtown Toronto on a snow day was like a tortoise race, with the 401 jammed and icy and multiple accidents. I'm glad I don't have to negotiate that any more.
Be safe!

Sounds like everyone fared well today, Connie, I'm thinking Karaoke is always fun, so good to see you Mary and a busy day for you, Hagatha and Chief I have fond memories of snow from Maine, New Hampshire, Montana and Colorado. Have a wonderful evening all and sleep well. Have a great afternoon flotsam.

Good Morning everyone. Just stopping in to say hi...its been awhile since I've been here. I'll start some fresh dark roast coffee, breakfast tea and hot chocolate to go with Connie's breakfast goodies. I was so sorry to hear Ana has Covid. Hope you all are doing well. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe. Gerry

I woke up very early this morning and am enjoying a cup of coffee with one cat snoring at my feet in front of the fire, and the other cat racing around at high speed. I think Dude is trying to get Willow to play -- he keeps puffing up like a Halloween cat, the way kittens do when they're pretending to be fierce, and dancing crabwise in front of her. But of course she's just a lazy girl and doesn't even open an eye.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Draclvr, Dude just cracks us up. He is apparently incapable of walking past any living being without chirring, so all day day long we hear these quiet little whirrs and chirps. The SPCA had his personality all wrong. He is basically an affectionate nine-year old kitten. He reminds me so much of my previous cat, Rachel.

Maybe Dude just needed the right family to bring out his true personality! I think having a 2-storey house to run around in instead of a small one-bedroom apartment is a huge deal for him, as are the two balcony areas, one of which looks out over a bird-filled slope down to the water, and the other which looks out directly into a Maple tree at eye level. Being outside really winds his watch, and judging from his initial shock and joy at being let out, he's obviously never had an outdoor space before. We have a cat flap onto the bigger deck and he can come and go as he pleases, so he has a little bit of independence, too, even if it is an enclosed upper balcony. The kittenish puffing up and sideways dancing is new this week. He's got a lot more confidence now, and is finally prepared to give Willow a swat when she gets too pushy and in his face -- she means well, but she's friendly-dominant and sometimes she's just plain rude, like pushing her nose right up to his or sneaking up behind him to sniff his rear end. I'm glad to see him set some boundaries. I suspect that his former people worked, and we're home all the time, so he gets lost of attention. Anyway, he is a lovely little guy and I feel very lucky that we have him.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
