Dude really cheers John when he's feeling low, just by being so goofy all the time. It's impossible to feel bad around happy animals.
I finally got every single thing done that was on my list and I have a day where I don't have to go anywhere or do anything. So it's loads of coffee and a Netflix bender for me! Maybe an order-in Indian dinner later on.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, that sounds like the perfect day to me! The 4th season of Ozark started on Netflix Friday! Going to make a good German casserole this afternoon. Found the recipe written down in German by hubby's first wife who was from Germany! Sauerkraut, Farmer's Cheese, noodles, smoked sausage, onion, garlic and cream... yum!

Draclvr, that sounds good!
I don't really cook any more because most of the time John can't eat at dinner time. Usually it's just a high-protein, high-calorie smoothie for him. I'm roasting vegetables for myself -- still working on our bumper crop of butternut squash and shallots.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I woke up early this morning because it wa so cold! The temperatures have been positively warm of late, but I think we're headed back into another cold snap. It's been foggy, too.
After some discussion we agreed to let the HVAC company come back and tinker with the heat pump. They feel they can make it quieter. If so, we'll keep it, and that way we don't have to engage in a legal battle that neither of us wants, and we'll have our air conditioning when we need it in the summer.

Yeah, I'd give them a chance since they DID promise it would be quiet! Good luck. Back to really cold here too. Supposed to be down close to 0°F tonight.

We're well below zero today and visbility is very poor. We can't see across the Passage, the fog is so thick. Every now and then a tug appears and disappears into the gloom. Very atmospheric.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Cold one here too today. It was -13f windchill this morning and still -4f. Other than feeding the birds real quick, I can't go out in this and breathe.

I hope that breathing resolves itself quickly, Ana! My sister's neighbor up in Iowa had a severe case of COVID pneumonia a year and a half ago and still can't breathe in the cold or the extreme heat. Which is a problem because it's REALLY cold up there all winter and very hot in the summer. They told her she had long COVID with permanent lung damage. You, of course, will have NONE of that!!

My 02 levels and lungs are doing amazing, Drac. If I didn't have to walk outside all day, I'd be back to work already. It's been really cold and snowy here and it's keeping me grounded more than I hoped. Sorry about your friend, it's tough for sure! I'm very thankful I was in shape when this hit. I think it helps in the long run!

Darclvr, it's C, not F.
Oddly enough, though, my brain was never able to switch from F to C when the change was made here decades ago. I never managed to learn the metric system , and for me distance is still in miles, not kilometres.
Ana, I'm so glad to see you back up and at it. I'm sure being in good health makes a huge difference
We keep hering that eventually everyne will catch Omicron, but I had better not because John's immune system is so badly compromised. He just got hit with Shingles and now Bell's Palsy. Omicron at this point qould make him very sick.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Tomorrow will be -10F actual temp with up to -30F Windchill, so needless to say I'll be grounded again. hagatha, so sorry to hear about John. I had Bell's Palsy and shingles and they are both miserable. Bell's Palsy was horrible. Thankfully mine cleared up in 6 weeks. The chiropractor helped a lot. Sending positive thoughts his way!

Thanks, Ana.
He jokes that it would be nice if he could get back to just having terminal cancer. But he's had some really good news this week -- he has a publisher for his photo book about mammals of the Salish Sea.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, that is so awesome!! He takes beautiful photos and that is well deserved! Drac, I'm really happy too. I caught myself singing this morning and realized I was actually singing out loud without coughing! Everytime I try and hold a conversation prior to today, I'd get coughing jags. It's the little things!
