It's the dentist for me. I'm finally getting my implant. I probably won't get it today, but I guess it all has to be measured out and fabricated. I think they can do it on the spot now -- my last full crown took about an hour and a half to make on their 3-d printer.

How did the dentist go, hagatha? I MUST remember to call mine to get my permanent crown. Sometimes he uses his 3D printer to make them, but this one he sent out.
What is WOM, soot?

The dentist was fine. This time she just wanted to review the surgeon's comments with me, which were that the bone grafts took very well and the metal screw implant is as firm as it needs to be. They'll be calling me when more work need to be done.
We've had a string of beautiful sunny, windy days. I'd love to go for a drive but John's shingles is still very painful. The chemo doctor has stopped his treatments for now as a result, though he only has two more in this six-month round anyway. I guess the later he finishes his treatments, the better the weather will be.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

No doughnuts for me -- I bought half a dozen jellies yesterday and somebody who is not me ate them all. I rarely eat things like that but sometimes I set aside a few hundred calories for a treat, especially if I've been diligent about exercise. But when I went to the box, coffee in hand, there were no doughy treats left, just powdered sugar dust.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The human Dude ate them all in the middle of the night. I would worry about his sugar intake, but at this point it's hardly relevant. Oh well, at least it saved me from myself. I have this wierd water retention where I can be normal one day, and look like a complete blimp the next. It's frustrating and demoralizing and makes it hard to follow a diet. It's also a new thing, and nobody has any suggestions except to tell me that my Cortisol levels are so low they barely register, but there's no treatment for it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Cortisol is a tricksey hormone. I have no idea how it works with stuff like this though. I'm surprised there is nothing that can be done to bring the level up.

My ND here had me do a 24-hour cortisol test and I took the results to my family doctor, who is willing to work with a naturopath and took it seriously. He can't use the 24-hour test as a diagnostic tool, though, because it isn't recognized as such by the medical powers-that-be, so he ordered the standard one-point blood test for cortisol. It is just a hair's breadth above the critical line, and he can't treat me unless it's below -- literally one little tick lower. But the treatments are just stop-gaps anyway unless the cause of the issue is found. My ND recommends the usual stuff like Cortisol Manager but I haven't found it to be all that useful and it's VERY expensive. Both my GP and ND are convinced that my difficulty with sleeping and now with losing weight is part and parcel with this this. Also, of course, I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, and no matter how good the numbers look, it's not the same as having a functioning thyroid.
Anyway, I'll be eating carrots and peppers for a while, and riding my bike! When the weather gets better I'll be walking with my neighbours again, so that's something to look forward to. There are all sorts of trails in the Comox Valley that we haven't tried.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Are you going to make a spicey chili, family?! That's the way I like it.

Ooh, there's nothing better than a good chili on a cold day. Spice is out for us these days, but I love my hot peppers.
Family, is it a meat chili, or beans? Or both?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hi guys
Been quiet lately because I've been in Florida with my daughter who just had her 3rd son in 4 years. I did take my computer with me, but most days I spent no time at all on it. Busy busy place!
I did manage to take a tumble while there which also made using the computer very uncomfortable.
But, I'm home and on the mend. Hope you all have a great evening!
