I'm so excited! I've found a young couple just starting out in their own painting business to do a bunch of painting inside my house! They've both been painting professionally for about 8 years and now that they have a baby, they want to stay local and not drive 3 hours every day to and from the jobs. The husband wanted to check out what all there was to do, so they stopped by this morning. They even brought the cute little 4 month old baby and have just left! I have just decided that I am no longer going to get up on 8 foot ladders to paint!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

I used to do all of our interior painting, too, but when we painted this place 5 years ago we hired professionals. I could have done a better job (I'm very precise with my cutting in), but it was awfully nice to have someone lse do all the work.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

When I remodeled/restore this 100+ year old farmhouse, I hung the drywall, taped it, sanded the joints and painted. But that was 25 years ago and at over 70, those days are over! I have wood ceilings and crown molding, so no cutting in! I was pretty good at it too back in the day! This stairwell is about 15" floor to ceiling and I'm NOT getting on a 12" 2 X 12 between two ladders to work in it again!!

We put a modern chandelier in our 17' stairwell a few years without giving thought to how we would clean it, and we actually have to hire someone in to do it. They put a board across the railings and stand on that. There's not a chance I'm doing that!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Another glorious sunny warm day here. Last one for awhile though. We've still got a lot of chilly weather ahead, but these warm days make it easier to bear. I started tomato seeds yesterday and hubby tilled up part of the north garden and planted onions and potatoes.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

We're off out for dinner celebrating oour 40th anniversary. My suprise present was a beautiful purse, pink leather and burgundy velvet and brocade fabric, far too pretty and fancy for here but I'm using it anyway. And apparently the mtching Chelsea Boots are on the way.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
