Same kind of day here, hagatha. Seemed like a good day for home made vegetable beef soup.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning, storms have passed. Kids are out for Spring Break and I'm feeling quite lazy. Fairly sure there are many things I should be doing, but.....
Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

A typical nothing day. I have to get out and do my grocery shopping today, even though I have a screaming headache. We have reports of one of those trucker convoys coming here and I want to avoid the traffic and noise.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

So, what did your niece make in cooking class with her turn, family?
The sun is finally peeking out. Unfortunately, it still is supposed to be quite chilly for tomorrow and I will be outdoors all day working a Wagon Days event down at the horse rescue!

We've found that the one meal John can eat a couple of times a week is liver and onions and mashed potatoes. Nice and simple and fast, too. For some reason it appeals to him when most other food doesn't .
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

soot, I will be doing walking tours and giving the "spiel" on the wagon rides. Normally visitors don't get to go down the lane, which is 1/2 mile long to the back part of the Rescue Ranch where we have seven 10 acre pastures. Longmeadow is 165 acres nestled back in the woods at the end of a one-mile driveway which makes us one of the top three rescues of this kind in the country. That includes the number and variety of animals and the intensive care they receive. It's a pretty interesting place!

We don't save all the horses we get, but we save most of them. There is a very real thing called compassion fatigue and the employees occasionally get training on how to deal with it. We see some terrible things, but it's also so rewarding when you see them start to gain weight and grow back hair and look happy in their eyes again. I've cried when a couple of them got adopted because you can get attached!
