I'm spending the day putting my house back in order. The painters got done yesterday and they did SUCH a good job! But I will be so happy to not have furniture in the middle of the floor and piles of stuff everywhere!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

I'm trying to work out how we could do floor replacements here without having to live in a huge mess for a month. I think I may have to put it off for now.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I replaced flooring here a few years ago. It was pretty easy. The uproar with moving out all the furniture wasn't too bad. Some of the bigger pieces, they just moved while they installed and then just slid it back. I think they were in and out in 3 days.

3 days wouldn't be awful.
Our house is about 2,400 square feet. I'd be re-tiling as well, so that would take longer and be a lot noisier. But I'm so done with the orange kitchen. It's depressing. Plus I absolutely despise having a wood floor in the kitchen. I know it's the fashion, but it's dumb.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Ah, glorious sunshine! Cold, but sunshine. Continuing with putting things back on the walls after the painters left and taking a break to help hubby plant onions.

We have a bit of sun today. Whenever the rain stops and the sun peeks out the cats go nuts, running around at high speed. Very entertaining.
I'm starting to clear out our kitchen and garage. John is a packrat and we have masses of stuff in the garage that we haven't even looked at for years. Our kitchen is full of mismatched mugs and small appliances that we never use. I'll make up a couple of boxes and take them to the Hospice Society thrift shop here in town. It's also a good time to do my annual closet cleanout.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Eye doctor appointment and then it's back to hanging pictures and organizing.
I'm also continuing my project of ripping all of our old music CDs to my computer and then transferring over to my home server. From there we can play our music anywhere from an app on our phones. We have been playing it on a really good speaker that we can take outside by the pool. Looking forward to it being warm enough to do that again! I also have the Plex Server set up on our Smart TV so we can play our music on the home server on the TV too. So, when I have all our music in three places - my computer, my cloud backup and my home server, can I make myself just get rid of all the physical CD's!!! We really have nothing here to play them on anymore. Hubby will have a REALLY hard time with it as he is a bit of a hoarder.

One of these days I'll digitize my music. I started a while back and then paused. It seems like such a daunting task. At the moment, we only listen to Spotify but a few of my favourite artists have taken their music off Spotify so I'd like another source of music.

I have over half of the ripping done. My goal is to do two more each day until they're all in the box - which will probably never go anywhere! The one I might keep is my Prince, Sign of the Times.

Dark and rainy day here. Supposed to be heavy storms with potential 60 mph winds later. Good day to work on some house projects! Going to need your Dark Roast Sumatra this morning, soot!

Drac, we have those storms moving in overnight. Praying the trees all stay vertical. Family I've been working on taxes. My head finally said, No more. I find my eyes don't enjoy hours of reading tiny figures, etc, any more. Will get back to it tomorrow if we have electricity Have a good night ya'll

We also seem to have a storm headed our way -- a thunderstorm no less, which is unusual for here. Went out to try on some summer clothes, but There's far too much of me right now.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
