Hi Alice, The correct name of the guide is:
The Morrowind Phophecies-Offical Guide for Pc and X-Box..it may have Game of the year stuck in there also. Mine does not but from Amazon I noticed they did and included X-Box on it.
That should do you. Please CYE

I'm still plugging away here in Act 4. On the first level of the Academy there is a door that can only be opened with a star shaped key, but I haven't been able to get through to the area on the map that has the pool and amulet. Is this vital to the game? I've been able to find a way down, but don't want to go if it will screw something up.
I thought I had passed all the tests, but they said I didn't and there is no way to take them over. Should I just keep on going?

Hi Tamia:
This is what you do to add crystals to the bag. Click your inventory open and move the screen to the right. This is so you can see the bag once it's opened. Click once on the crystal bag and it will show up next to your screen with the slots to be filled. Then, drag the crystals you want to use to the slots.
Crystals can be taken out of the bag and exchanged with other crystals. You'll find quite a few crystals throughout the game that you can swap depending on which resistance you need at that time.
Charms, on the other hand, can't be taken out. You'll find charms in various places and with various merchants. They are to be used in weappons, equipment, etc.

Hi Zanthia I agree much more action in this than DD, although right now replaying DD there is quite a bit, I'm still in the catacombs there. Jean, you will be able to unlock that door when you need to, can't remember when but later in the game. Ingie

Jean, to get to the star key, you have to go to the room that has the wharp - can't think of right name- where there is a dead body. The same place where you tested. You need to pick up the pickax and hit the wall with it (that part of the wall will highlight). The key is in there. At least that is what I think you are looking for. I think Ingie is talking about a key that you get later. As far as taking the tests over, I don't know if it affects you or not - I failed the first time through, and went back to a save, just to be on the safe side.

i am having a problem controlling the 2 characters in battle. i am okay if there is one or 2 enemies but if there are more than that i get slaughtered. for example, the room where there are 4 or 5 guards/rangers i could not beat them at all on the action setting no matter what i did. i got killed instantly. i went in there and quickly ran out hoping ot separate them but after a dozen tries that never happened and the group demolished me. so i had no choice but to switch to easy and then it was a snap to kill them in a group.
so how does one handle group attacks. i don't like the idea of having to switch difficulty but if i have to i will but i am not going to do every group battle a dozen tries like i did this battle.
there shouldn't be that big a difference in the difficulty settings. it seems to be very unbalanced.

Tamia, I'm glad you were able to figure it out. Some things are just not very intuitive, so holler out if you need any help. Thanks for the tips, Ingie & Nickie. Nickie, I remember picking up a pickax and will have to check it out this evening. Zanthia, not all the combat will be the same. There are difficult parts where you have 4 or 5 attacking you, but for the most part you get only 1 or 2 at a time. I remember having problems in the first act, and now in the dungeons in the 4th act, but not much in between. I think I have my settings on action. It's difficult at first to get used to using 2 characters. Remember to hit F4 to select both at one time. If you want your hero to act first and he/she is F1, first do F1 and then F4. If you want the DK to go first and he is F2, selects F2 and then F4. Sometimes when things really got going I'd look at the screen and one of them would not be highlighted, and would be standing still getting crunched. I'd have to remember then to highlight them. You kind of have to experiment around with selecting them and actions. I found that my hero has to be selected first as leader if I want to do special spells. Don't know why. But you'll get the hang of it. Jean

I kept DK in front almost at all time. I had a bow and would stick behind...seemed to work for me. At first though I seemed to have problems before realizing all I had to do really was click on one bad guy at a time, work on that one, move onto the next. Zanthia, I always kept my potions down in big battles, remembering to shift over to the right person took some training on my part-forgetful you know. One of the things I like about BD is; as in DD, you can pause and drink and then get back into action..not getting killed in the process is nice. Ingie

Hi Zanthia - my characters were similar to Ingies and I worked the same way BUT if you click on a baddie near the hero or DK check if that character is still highlighted - took me ages to realise the baddie was so near I was also turning off my second character. The times I tried to use the Shaman Hammer to discover it wasn't working because Karen was no longer active. The type of thing I would do Alice.

both my characters are melee based. i plan on turning my character into a battlemage. already she has 3 points in a missile spell. and if needed the DK will use a bow. by mistake i put the magic missile into him. now i need money to get rid of it. it seems to get rid of skill points it gets more expensive each level you go up and money is hard to come by at this point in time. so for now it is staying but as a spell it seems to be pretty useless for him.
i always make sure to click on the SELECT ALL in the upper right so doesn't that mean both character should be attacking. and then i use the space bar to have each character do his/her thing.
question about the trading screen. it seems to include equipped items. is there any order to the listing or any way to tell which items are equipeed so you don't accidentally sell them. i have already sold some equipped tihngs but they were just basic shoes and gloves and i had duplicates so it wasn't too bad.

Hmmm. This Act 4 is very strange. I finally went back to level one, got the star amulet and let myself into the room with the mirror. It's speaking a strange language. If I try talking to it we have a conversation, although I don't understand what we're saying, and, as far as I know, nothing happens. If I instead take the second option to leave, what should I do? Is there something somewhere that explains the language? Jean

can someone explain how sharpening works. i read over at larian that it is highly recommended that you max this on your weapons ASAP. well since i have found no magical weapons and the best i have is a basic 2 handed sword which does puny damage , my level 8 character is not doing all that great. so i but sharpen at the battlefield and put all 6 points in it. i sharpen the weapon and now the weapon while still equipped no longer shows up on the field. all i see is a shield but there should be no shield with a 2 handed weapon. what gives. is this a bug. so i ended up restoring to an older save.

Zanthia, when you sharpen a weapon, you need more agility points to use it. I think it goes up about 5 points after you sharpen the weapon. I would always save before I sharpen the weapon to make sure I had enough points in agility to use it. Kay

I've never used the sharpen skill. In retrospect, it would be useful. For my DK I put most of his skill points in two handed slashing, death blow, etc. I'm still moseying around the pipes in Act IV. I should have been finished by now, but haven't been able to put much playing time in this week. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend. Have fun, everyone! Jean
