Marian, the kitties really are helping me. Dude never really got to know John so he's oblivious, which means he's just his goofy little self. Willow knows, though, and she's sad a lot of the time. She misses her Dad and is clingy but that's good for me right now. There's a lot of lap-sitting and purring and general closeness.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I remember being so grateful for someone glad to see me when I came home to that empty house. Two dogs too excited for words made things so much easier! Glad you have your kitties for company and entertainment, hagatha!

hagatha, I am so very sorry. I know that even when expected it is still such an extreme loss. My heart hurts for you. Mary, sorry that hubby is in pain again. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for you all. Life has been crazy this year with so many ups and downs and I'm sorry I'm not here as often chatting. I do have one good news though! I don't think I mentioned that I have a new grand daughter. She's 5 weeks old and her name is Emera Jade. She's already stolen my heart.

Congratulations Ana! I've been out attempting to get a tire fixed and am waiting on the fridge repair man to come exorcise our possessed Whirlpool

I'm about to go start my pizza dough. Home made pizza with the Germans tonight! Guenter is making one of his famous salads.

Here in the US, most of our salad dressings have a vinegar base of some sort. In Germany, they use fresh squeezed lemon juice. He minces a sweet onion nearly to a paste on my mandolin, then adds olive oil, the fresh squeezed lemon juice, salt, pepper and sugar. He does it all to taste. Tonight he added 3 hard boiled eggs and some deli ham. He prefers Romaine lettuce too. Combined with the pizza, we were all stuffed! Petra and I polished off a bottle of red wine too!
