Thanks! I have Gothic II Gold, and now I have the free download.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I love Gothic.
I was never able to finish Gothic 3. On two different computers, including my Alienware, which at the time could run anything, it got to a certain point in the game and started crashing repeatedly and I couldn't get it working again. Too bad, because I was really enjoying it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

SOmetimes a game just passes me by unfinished, and Gothic 3 might fall into that black hole. Red Dead Redemption 2 may also be one of those. I've started it twice now, and it seems completely linear and scripted and I don't feel like it will ever be much fun. When I finish with Days Gone I'll pick RDD 2 up again, but I'm starting to have my doubts about it.

Does Gothic 2 Gold have to be installed to play this mod? I know I had the game but can't find it now. I'll just buy it again, I guess.
Edit....I found that Gothic 2 Gold must be installed. Mod will install all required files, fixes, patches etc.

I tried to order Gothic 2 Gold and got the message that I already own it. It also mentioned Gothic Teaser, which I do have. I checked my library and Gothic 2 Gold is not there. I'm confused.
I tried to order The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos and Steam said I didn't own a copy of Gothic 2 Gold.

Hi Pokey. I downloaded this on Jan 1st but after repeated efforts to master the controls OR even get it to behave in a stable manner AT ALL I totally gave up on it. Instead, I re-played my original disk version of Gothic 2 on my XP machine - and it played perfectly from beginning to end !! I wish you better luck than. I had !!

In the meantime, apart from the one disappointment I had, Elex II is full of Gothic-type Euro-jank goodness (I learned that term from an Angry Joe video, which was hilarious), but with a jet pack! I'm having a blast. You can hover in mid-air and rain down fireballs. Pretty cool. You might try this one instead.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I've just started this game, so will continue this thread. I played the game many years ago. Xardas told me about a secret passage to town, so I tried it. I got killed so many times that I started over at the tower. Now it looked more like the game I played before and I made good progress. I am at Lobart's farm and Hilda wants a frying pan from the vendor by the road. He will not offer his goods for sale. I looked at them earlier, so maybe that is why. Is there any way I can see his goods now. Hilda is going to be upset and she already gave me the gold to buy it.
Edit ---I'll go back to an earlier save and not talk to him till later.

Marian, thanks for finding those. That will help. I still don't know where some others are.
Mad, appreciate your response. Sounds like we are in agreement that the game is not very playable. I don't understand the praise for the game on the Steam site. I will likely be giving up on the game. It looks like it would be frustrating to try to play. So did you find the game playable after all, Pokey ??

The Gothics were not the easiest games. The first few levels were a really tough go, I found.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I really liked the original Gothic but found the jumping (and that kind of stuff) truly difficult - however, I did manage to finish the game. Gothic 2's first half is one of my great favourite RPG experiences - but I found the second half less enjoyable. And Gothic 3 I liked the most and got safely to the end I've never completed absolutely every quest in any RPG I've played, though. It would probably take me years to do that !! Morrowind is the one where I've actually completed the most.
