Drac, really sorry to hear about Pita: as you say, it is very much part of the experience of having animals as part of the family. We have been down that road quite a few times over the years and it is always hard! Greetings to everyone else: I hope the weekend looms with promise of good things.

Good Morning everyone. Draclvr It breaks my heart to hear you had to let Pita go...it is the hardest decision to make for our beloved fury family members. You gave Pita a happy and safe home for her whole life...a kitty couldn't ask for anything more. I hope you take comfort in knowing you made it possible for Pita to have a long and happy life feeling the love coming from your heart. Gerry

It's very windy here. I took a drive down to Courtenay and the highway was so windy I could feel my car being pushed around.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate await. Draclvr I hope you can find some comfort in knowing you gave Pita a long and happy life with you. I can relate to how difficult it was to make the decision to end her suffering when you loved Pita so much...she was a special part of your life for all those years. Gerry

Some thoughts for the day (I will refrain from saying that they may be particularly appropriate for some of us, obviously... ): "The years between 50 and 70 are the hardest. You are always being asked to do things, and yet you are not decrepit enough to turn them down." T.S. Elliot "At age 20, we worry about what others think of us; at age 40, we don’t care what they think of us; ...at age 60, we discover they haven’t been thinking of us at all." Ann Landers "The important thing to remember is that I’m probably going to forget.” Unknown “It’s paradoxical that the idea of living a long life appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting old doesn’t appeal to anyone.” ~ Andy Rooney “The older I get, the better I used to be.” Lee Trevino "I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a lot more as they get older, and then it dawned on me — they’re cramming for their final exam." George Carlin "Grandchildren don’t make a man feel old, it’s the knowledge that he’s married to a grandmother that does." J. Norman Collie "To get back to my youth I would do anything in the world, except exercise, get up early, or be respectable." Oscar Wilde "The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for." Will Rogers "We must recognize that, as we grow older, we become like old cars – more and more repairs and replacements are necessary." C.S. Lewis "I’m so old that my blood type is discontinued." Bill Dana "The older I get, the more clearly I remember things that never happened." Mark Twain “Old people shouldn’t eat healthy foods. They need all the preservatives they can get.” Robert Orben Enjoy the weekend!

Good Morning everyone. Lex those quotes are too funny! Thanks for sharing. Dark roast coffee, strong tea and hot chocolate are ready. We have had a bitter cold Arctic blast of below zero temps for 2 days...finally going to warm up a bit today. Hope to be able to get in a walk. Enjoy your Sunday Boomers! Gerry

Good morning all! Awful news about the earthquake in Syria and Turkey: my heart goes out to those affected and I hope that none of you had close friends or relatives among the victims. On a much lighter note, here's another snippet to hopefully make you smile and help your week off to a good start: THESE ARE ENTRIES TO A WASHINGTON POST COMPETITION ASKING FOR A TWO-LINE RHYME WITH THE MOST ROMANTIC FIRST LINE, AND THE LEAST ROMANTIC SECOND LINE: 1. My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife: Marrying you has screwed up my life. 2. I see your face when I am dreaming. That's why I always wake up screaming. 3. Kind, intelligent, loving and hot; This describes everything you are not. 4. Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss, But I only slept with you 'cause I was pissed. 5. I thought that I could love no other -- that is until I met your brother. 6. Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you. But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty and so is your head. 7. I want to feel your sweet embrace; But don't take that paper bag off your face. 8. I love your smile, your face, and your eyes [blip], I'm good at telling lies! 9. My love, you take my breath away. What have you stepped in to smell this way? WHO SAID POETRY IS BORING??
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.
