Hi Gerry ,

Why can't you see the cutscenes ? Do you get an error message or does the game just skip them ?

Except for AOD, all the other TR games skipped FMV's on my machine too.

I'm thinking that might be because you need to install the older version of Quicktime that the game uses . However , I'm not sure about that .

You may want to post in the Glitches forum and someone there might be able to help you fix it . smile

I'll sure second that statement! thumbsup When it becomes not fun anymore, it's time to move on to the next game.

Surely you guys can't mean that one should give up at the first sign of frustration . I think one should rise to the challenge . I've only had to give up on one game because I couldn't beat the final boss , BUT not until I attempted it about 50 times . I was steaming mad at the developers of that game for not putting checkpoints or quick saves in their very lengthy missions.

We're talking about fun Robert. When it is not fun anymore, it is time to move on. They're games. smile

I hear ya Rusty wave . But you would agree that sometimes they become difficult and frustrating wouldn't you ? . Is your position that one should move on when it gets that way ?

Well, everyone has a different tolerance for frustration. If it gets so frustrating that it is no longer any fun, then yes it's time to move on. That is my personal opinion, of course. Some people might like the frustration, I don't know. I'd rather have fun. thumbsup

Ah , Ok . So what your saying is that someone could be frustrated ( maybe even angry ) at a game and still be having fun at the same time . Ok , now I get it , and your right . I don't think I would care for a game that doesn't tick me off at some point . So when I get ticked off , I know I'm having fun . It's really ironic , but in a strange way it makes sense . Thank you for clearing it up for me . thumbsup

There are masochists that enjoy stuff that other folks would flee, and then there are all of us that fall somewhere on the spectrum. There is no award for sticking to a game when it isn't fun, and only you can determine if you want to give a game up, or at what point, but no one should ever feel bad because they didn't stick with it when it wasn't fun. And now if you please, that's enough on that diversion, and let us allow the thread to be what it was originally about.

No apologies necessary! I am enjoying TRII and am now in Level 6. I am happy that this game is not crashing on me like Angel of Darkness.

I just picked up a used copy of TR4 and am wondering if you all can tell me about it. Do you know of any glitches or problems I might encounter with the game?

Hi Gerry , wave

As far as I know , Tr : AOD is the only Tomb Raider game that has major issues . All others should be fairly stable .

Edit : Here is a link where you can read about all of the Tomb Raider games . Just click on Action Games in the left column and scroll down the list in the little box .

Click here for Tomb Raider : The Last Revalation

Since this thread has turned into a discussion about more than just one Tomb Raider game, I have changed the title of the thread to a more general one. This way, any Tomb Raider game can be addressed in this thread.

So, feel free to post any Tomb Raider questions, problems, or discussion here.

Hi Robert & hugh, I just bought a used addition of TR Last Revelation over the weekend and look forward to playing after I finish TR4.

I am now in Level 7 of TR4 at the "timed sequences"... don't like time parts because I have a tendency to make Lara run in circles when I try to go to fast! Jumping over those little pipes in the tunnels are harder than they look.

I'm looking forward to more discussions with you all now that Friedmonky has made my thread into a discussion for all TR games! smile bravo bravo thumbsup

I must confess that I have never played any of the Tomb Raider games. I am interested to hear peoples thoughts on them as far as which is considered the best/worst, do the early ones play on XP, etc. All thoughts and opinions welcome! Let's get this thread kickin'! lol

Thanks,
Rusty smile
