We're all still here, oldbroad!
We escaped more severe weather last night, but there are 5 fatalities so far in SE Missouri from a tornado.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Soot, the trees look great. They're all mature trees - an ancient apple tree, and old, very tall Willow, and a lovely Acer that hangs over my back deck and shades it in the hot afternoon sun. They're all nicely shaped now.
The second floor deck's another story. My neighbour, who is a carpenter, built it for us 6 years ago, and I've never trusted it; the glass railings always banged around in the wind and I never felt it was securely fastened to the building. I had an engineer look at it and it basically has to be rebuilt. My neighbour is now angry at me, which is rather uncomfortable since we share this property. I don't get it; if I was doing work for a friend I would give them my best work, not my worst. Anyway, it's just another reason to move, I guess.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

How unfortunate your neighbor took this personally, hagatha. I would think - especially with a 2nd floor deck - he would rather it be secure than chance a terrible accident.
Cold, but sunny today. Not much on my plate except for running in town to work on a friend's computer and then bowling tonight.
Happy Thursday!

We've had the most awful rainstorm this week, which has slowed down the progress of my deck. I'm taking the day off, I think. I can work in the basement all weekend and I should be able to get most of the work done down there.
Strong coffee is definitely on order today. I'm trying a new espresso bean from Milano. Very tasty, lots of toffee notes.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Late last year my neighbours built an illegal suite in their basement and I had to put a stop to it (we are a duplex condo and there is no way to legally build a secondary suite in a condo). Our condo insurance company threatened to cancel our condo insurance and made them take it out.
Today they came over and presented their latest scheme: they want to rezone our shared property to an R4, which means 4 dwelling units, so that they can build their suite. As though I needed more stress in my life. Of course I said no. I can veto anything that they try, because we are a condo and they need my permission. But I am so tired of this. I have enough on my plate as it is. I'm going to fast-forward my cleaning and packing.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning Connie, Hagatha, Draclvr and all who pop in later. Hawaiian Kona coffee, Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water in the Break Room. Connie, I'll try one of your Blueberry bagels this morning. Hagatha, wishing you a fruitful weekend with cleaning and packing. Have a great Saturday everyone and sleep well tonight TaintedFury...catch you later.

We're having yet another major storm, with ferries being cancelled and sideways rain. I wish I could just stay at home, but I have to get some paint mixed to start on the wall touch-ups. After that it's dpwn tp the basement, where the books await!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, it sounds as if you could encourage your neighbours to help you get sorted and sold so that they can then work on the new owners about their schemes...! A happy and peaceful Easter to everyone

Happy Easter, everyone.
More furious wind today, which makes it a perfect packing day. Strong coffee is definitely in order, followed later by a pot of chai and a scone to be consumed down in the dusty basement.
I've told my neighbours that I'm selling, so that should put a stop to the rental suite shenanigans. Maybe we can now just be friendly until I leave.
Soot, Ozark was great. I'd put it in my top 20 for sure. Let us know how Dungeons and Dragons is. I've heard good things about it so far.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

A beautiful sunny Easter morning here. We will be heading in town to have dinner with my step-son's family. It will be REALLY great to see our granddaughter who is home on leave from the Army with her boyfriend and new puppy!
Enjoy your day, everyone!
