The ablation went fine. It's quite uncomfortable, but definitely not worth taking the goofy pills! I told my nurse, it wasn't nearly as painful as my back when I was done working outside yesterday! Went shopping afterwards to replace a shrub. A little sore from all the needles, but otherwise doing great!
Hope everyone is kicking back and enjoying the evening! Well, except for Tainted Fury on the other side of the planet!

I'm about to settle in with the last season of Better Call Saul. I must say, it's very good. Things are turning nasty....
Otherwise, I finally have someone to complete the wall repairs in my house, which means that I can move forward with getting the electrician in next week. That will complete the interior work, leaving only one very large deck to clean and re-stain.
Draclvr, I always go with the goofy pills before a procedure, but for some reason I never need painkillers afterwards, even after a major surgery. Tylenol and Advil combined seem to be enough.

Good Morning everyone. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are ready. Draclvr I never heard of that radio frequency ablation before. How long or often do you have to have it? Have a great day everyone! Gerry

More blowing and blustering outside, with the usual rain. Since I can't go outside and do the weeding, I'll be researching hardy plants that deer don't like for the pots outside. I had an absolutely beautiful walkway of plants in pottery containers out front, but the deer discovered them last year and now they're all gone. I wish the cougar that hangs around here would bring some friends.
Speaking of venison, a very strange thing happened a couple of months ago; all of a sudden I cannot bring myself to eat read meat, anything that comes from a mammal. Odd, after all these years.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

VERY windy, but supposed to be warm before more storms roll in later. Connie, I shall await all the solutions to all the problems!
That is kind of odd about the meat, hagatha.
Gerry, the ablation procedure actually burns away the portion of the sensory nerve that transmits pain signals to the brain. Some people have one and never need one again. My last one lasted 9 months. Hubby's has lasted a year so far, but he's starting to feel kind of twingey. I think about these procedures we have now that help us stay active and how people in prior generations didn't have it. Guess they just sat around until they died. Same with procedure like cataract surgery. Hubby's grandma was blind for many years and that's all it was. We are lucky to be living now in some ways!

Hagatha, that is fascinating: do you have any idea what triggered this change in outlook?
Drac, I was interested to hear about your radiofrequency ablation: I had not heard about this before and suspect it may be more commonly used in USA than UK.

Lex, I don't think it's been commonly used here in the US for very long.

Lex, when I go towards the meat counter I now see animals, not packages of food. I have no idea why this happened. I was a vegetarian in my late teens and early 20's but that was more about weight control than any moral stance. Anyway. it's easy enough for me to accommodate, since poultry and fish are still apparently fair game! Still, there's nothing I liked better than a juicy burger. I'll miss that.

hagatha, Covid did that to me for months after I got over it each time I had it. I am 100% meat eater and it would literally make me feel like vomiting at the thought of putting it in my mouth. I could not even fathom chewing it. It took about 3 months each time.
Drac, glad your procedure went well! I never heard of it either, had to google it.

It's not that it makes me feel sick; I'm just seeing cows and lambs and pigs instead of food. And I guess I don't want to eat them any more. It's been about 8 months now, so It seems permanent. Anyway, file under odd but true.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

So it sounds like perhaps covid was manufactured by some extremist vegetarian group... Drac, my googling suggests that in UK the ablation is more like an epidural injection whereas you had something like an electronic probe inserted, or have I got that wrong?

Good Morning soot, Connie, hagatha, Draclvr, Ana, Lex and everyone. Extra strong brew, super strong tea and dark hot chocolate await. Draclvr you are right about the new procedures that help us "aged" ones continue to function. Hagatha the "old" brain sometimes makes its own decision...no red meat is a good thing for your health...your body remembers being a vegetarian so there you go! Happy Friday! Gerry

Good morning, all.
It's another ghastly morning. Willow has retired to her heated pad in disgust and Dude is stomping around in a huff because he can't go out on the deck. He's a pretty small cat; I cannot understand how he makes a stomping sound when he walks around the house, but he does. Willow, my zaftig girl, is as silent as a ghost. Is the stomping by choice, I wonder?
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Working our annual Spring Fling down at Longmeadow, the large animal rescue today from 9:30 - 3:00. We usually have over 700 people show up! It's sunny, but cold and windy. There will be carry-out pizza for supper as I will be too tired to cook when I get home! I will mostly be a tour guide for wagon rides to the back of the 165 acre property. Luckily, there are 6 of us doing them as our voices only hold out for about 3 rides! My rear end is usually sore from the wooden benches on the wagon! We do this in April to celebrate the birthday of one of our horses, Twister. Twist of Fate was foaled 16 years ago to a mare that survived a livestock trailer wreck on the interstate. They were being taken to a slaughterhouse, so he is a lucky horse and the star of the Ranch. Twister even paints! You can look him up as he's even been featured on The Today Show.

Good morning Connie, OldBroad, TaintedFury and all who pop in later for a break. Hawaii Kona Coffee, Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water in the Break Room. Draclvr, Twister is quite the artist, I really enjoyed his Today Show painting video. Connie I'm up for a Danish this morning...enjoy Eagles tonight. Oh my TaintedFury, that is quite the mix of weather down under ... is that normal for this time of year? Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

I have never been so COLD! Just got home and I'm not moving away from my fireplace! It was very windy and very cold - just miserable. But there were still around 700 people that showed up. Hope you have some of that Kona Coffee left, soot! One of the food trucks was a coffee vendor and he was selling as much hot coffee and hot chocolate as he could make!
