I agree about the ship building video - fantastic stuff: I was trying to see whether it included reference to how long the process actually took, but couldn't find anything.

It looks as if we have a pink snowfall here today as all the blossom is being blown off our flowering cherry trees!

We have been having an interesting time with our last surviving Persian cat, a few months short of 19 years old. A couple of days ago we thought she might have had something similar to a stroke, unable to stand on her feet without falling over and looking as if she had lost all power in at least two legs: we called the vet fearing that we would be told that she would have to be put to sleep, but an antibiotic/steroid shot and two days of rest have resulted in considerable improvement so hopefully she will keep going for a while longer (although running up and down stairs and/or jumping on or off furniture may no longer be on the agenda).
A huge relief as she has been with us since she was three months old and is a very precious family member, but we still do not know what caused the problem.

Lex, keep her close to you . I hope you'll be able to keep enjoying her company. I miss my cats every single day. Our last one (the one who hates me but loves my brother) has, just for the very first time in the 14-1/2 years we've had her, laid on my brother's lap for an hour or so. I feel it is a bad sign as he says she is getting more "needy" for attention, similar to our lost ones.

Hello, all, We've had some gorgeous weather, and the cruise have begun for the year.

We also had two pods of Orca go by fairly close to the shore, one of them with an infant.

I'm struggling with getting my house ready; I have a small but complicated drywall patching job and can't find anyone to do the repair for me. I/m starting to think I'm not going to be putting this house on the market until summer at earliest.

Wish I could transport myself to you, hagatha! I do drywall of all kinds. In fact, I hung, taped and painted my whole house.

Chilly, but sunny and it appears the horrendous winds have died down at least a little bit. A terrible pile-up on the interstate in Illinois yesterday due to a huge dust storm. Six fatalities so far, 37 injured and the highway won't be open until later today. Caused by high winds, freshly tilled and planted soil and very dry conditions. Terrible.

Heading down to Longmeadow for another school tour this morning.
