Mary, your situation is so similar to mine - my husband had only just retired when he was diagnosed and we had just bought this home on the water and moved from Vancouver. We, too, had planned to travel the world.
Even so, we had several wonderful years together here in spite of his illness and he always said he had some of the happiest times of his life during those years. We were closer than we'd ever been before, too, which was the silver lining.
I hope you have many more days together with your husband.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Made hubby's big breakfast today and then am heading down to Longmeadow to work a Wagon Days event. Supposed to be nice and toasty today, so I'll be HOT when I get home!
Over the last few days I actually am almost caught up with stuff outside. Got 120 tomatoes and about 75 peppers planted; got my seven big patio pots planted and finished resetting some small stone edgers. Unfortunately, they are creek rock and extremely heavy!
Now, I need to tackle my house after all this neglect!
Happy Saturday, everyone!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Draclvr: My Goodness, you have the energy of a twenty year old, I couldn't do a quarter of what you do without landing in the hospital.

What about the butterfliers? Have a great Sunday everyone, be it restful or energetic! And a bit of silly humour: Wife: Did I get fat during quarantine? Husband: You weren't really skinny to begin with. Cause of death: covid
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Happy Mother's Day to all our Gameboomer moms!
I'm so excited that my young man with the young back got all my mulch done while I was at Longmeadow yesterday. It was $250 well-spent. Going to power wash all my stepping stones and get those reset today. Then I will just sit back and wait for all the beautiful blooms this summer! Judith, I am old and fat, but just not interested in becoming sedate until I no longer have a choice!

Unseasonably hot weather here all of a sudden. I've had the heat pump on for days. It really doesn't get the upstairs very cool, though; it's still 80 degrees up here. Downstairs is lovely and cool.
I'm getting close to getting the chores inside my house done. The handyman finished his work last week and today I touched up all the scuffed paint work around the house. The electricians were also here last week as they had a cancellation, and replaced the front hall lights and installed white plugs and plates. Next it's the big full-house cleaning, which I am NOT going to do myself.
The two front decks still need to be finished, but I hope to have everything done by mid-June at the latest.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning and Happy Monday! The usual strong coffee, tea and hot chocolate await. Hagatha, I am so impressed at how much you've done to get your house ready for sale! I wish I could get motivated to just purge all the things I don't use and won't use again! Enjoy your day! Gerry

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Hagatha, Judith, Drac and all who pop in later for a break. Keep the coffee coming Gerry as it's a Moanday Moaning to the week. Connie, have fun at lunch...I'll have a danish to go. Great news Hagatha, keep chipping away at your projects. Yes indeed Drac, glad your mulch is done and I'm not interested either until I don't have a choice as you put it! Have a good day Judith. Take care all!

Oh, well-done, hagatha! When it comes to the point that we have to sell, I also will NOT be doing the major cleaning that will be needed!
After several days of 90 degree weather, we finally got a good rain yesterday afternoon and much cooler weather today. Since I am caught up outside, it's time for laundry and some cleaning inside today. My son and his family will be here from Colorado the first week in June and they are closely followed by our family from Germany for about 7 weeks.
But first, some of Gerry's strong hot coffee and my daily Wordle! Happy Monday, Gameboomers!

Coffee for me, too, but no goodies. My sister and I pigged out on pastries last week and it's time to call a halt to the sugar intake!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
