Hello all and thank goodness for weekends. Connie, I'll have a danish this afternoon and with Gerry out of pocket I've brought tea, hot chocolate and bottled Fiji water. Hagatha, keep chipping away at your projects and exploring houses. Ms Mary I am keeping you, hubby and family in my thoughts and prayers. Have a good day Draclvr, OldBroad and all who pop in later.

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. Hugs Mary. hug A very special young man who was very close to us all committed suicide Thursday night after leaving the club. He was about Robert's age, and always teasing and making us laugh. I don't have words for how we all feel right now. cry

Oh, connie, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. What a terrible shock. Hugs and peace to you.

Absolutely beautiful day today. Hoping to get the rest of the patio furniture out of the grain bins so we can sit outside and enjoy it!

Connie, that is devastating. I'm so sorry.

Today is wash-the-filthy garage, part two, which means moving a ton of stuff out of there and down to the basement first. It never ends!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Connie, really sorry to hear about your friend: that sort of thing not only causes sorrow and/or shock, but usually makes you wonder whether you could have seen it coming and perhaps even done something to prevent it (although the detailed workings of someone else's mind/emotions are unknowable). hug

Hagatha, good to hear that you are making progress on the final clear out: have you discovered any new species of spider or other lurking creatures? scared

Lex, lots of lurkers but nothing unusual. Just our regular little spiders and a couple of whoppers. I don't mind spiders at all. I've handled tarantulas before, though in a relatively controlled setting (they are beautiful).

Connie, you are correct...always hug the ones you love. The cleaning and project will end Hagatha...keep smiling and chip away...and say hello to your lurkers for me. wink

So, I took a drive down Island with my realtor too look at houses and although we looked at several lovely new places in Parksville and Qualicum, the first one we saw, in Nanoose Bay, turned out to be my favourite, and felt like home the second I walked in. It's a newer home in a very cool area, very beachy and cottagey with a mix of new and old homes and beach access five minute's walk away. It has views of the water, though nothing like my current place. I put an offer on it. So we'll see. Now I really, really have to get this place ready because I have six days until it gets listed for sale I still have a few cosmetic things left on the list, but the big ones are done.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Feels like it's okay now. I will miss my view, but the house I put an offer on is better than the one I have now in almost every way.

It is another duplex or condo? Or single family home?

I'm afraid that the realtor and the sellers, who are also realtors, failed to tell us that there was an existing offer on the place, which they are legally bound to do so that I can make my offer accordingly. My realtor and I will be filing a formal complaint to the local REB. They will most certainly be censured for this, which can affect their licenses. I may not get that house, but the realtor and the sellers will wish that they had sold it to me.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm looking at another one on the same street tomorrow. It's way more expensive but has a gorgeous garden. A tiny place of less than 1800 square feet, 5 years old , with absolutely beautiful finishes. But the price! Not getting my hopes up too high.

Hagatha, how far away from your current home is Nanoose Bay? Ooo... that garden would appeal to me!

Connie, SOMEONE has to solve all our problems! Have fun.

Another beautiful sunny warm day here. I could take this all year long! After a couple days off, hubby and I got another huge job done the last two days... putting down straw around the tomatoes and putting their big cages around them. Bob the rooster immediately squired his ladies over to the north garden to scratch in the new straw. They had fun, but nearly destroyed two plants, so, on the cages went to protect them!

Enjoy your Wedensday, Gameboomers!

Drac, Nanoose Bay is an hour and a half straight down the highway from here. It's close to Nanaimo, so close to the ferry to the Mainland, and also closer to Victoria, where my sister lives.

The place I'm looking at is tiny, but very high-end. The garden will require some landscaping help for pruning and I'd have someone mow the lawn since that doesn't interest me. It also has a hot-tub, which I don't want and might just sell. It also has a little artificial stream, which could be expensive to maintain, but we'll see. It's lovely. I wish I could let the cats roam. The place is fenced, but those little monkeys can get into or out of just about anything.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Perhaps you will have to build the kitties a outdoor catio! I had to go look up a map - looks like an amazing place to live.

It is. And now that I've seen that area, the beautiful big houses in new developments are of no interest to me at all. I might have to stretch things a bit money-wise to get this place, but I can't take it with me.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
