Yes it's been wonderful living here. My new place is smaller but has a lovely garden.

I feel bad for little Dude, though - he lived in a tiny apartment for 9 years, now he has two balconies and practically lives outside, and then I'm taking him to a house where he has no safe outdoor spaces. Although the garden is fenced an enterprising cat could easily escape. I'll have to find someone to build me a big catio.

I'm sure you'll soon get something sorted for him, hagatha.

The most important thing is that you get happily ensconsed in your new home as soon as you can

Good morning everyone...double dark brew and donuts to kick start the weekend!! Thanks Gerry and Connie. Weekend projects begin today with some Dungeons & Dragons this afternoon and then rest and recuperation to cap the day.

I'm in my final stretch of house cleaning in preparation for my influx of summer guests! Weeds and tomato/pepper planting have been conquered, so it was on to the severely neglected house. My son and his family are driving here on Monday from Denver for a week and we are picking up the Germans at the airport on Wednesday. They will stay with other family before moving out here for several weeks. With that many people here - especially 3 teenagers! - the house quickly becomes trashed, so I try to at least have the floors clean and things picked up before they get here! At least the epic amounts of cat hair have slowed down!

It's hot here too, Gerry. We have NEVER had to water gardens on June 1st, but we are for the next couple of days or nothing will survive. If we have no rain for another week, we will officially enter drought conditions. It's really bad. The pool has been feeling good though!

Hi Connie, soot, Draclvr. It's a cloudy day here we actually got a thunderstorm yesterday...first rain in weeks...but it was less then a quarter of an inch. So sorry you are almost in drought conditions Draclvr. It would be awful to loose all those wonderful plants!

Good morning everyone. Gerry, keep the double dark brew on the burner as it's my elixir for the day...wow, 43 degrees is chilly. Draclvr, rain is goodness and pray it comes your way soon as drought conditions are a tough slog. Does the Farmers Almanac shed any light on the summer forecast? Picking up where I left off with weekend projects...they'll keep me occupied for the rest of the day. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Soot, I have my Farmer's Almanac in my hands. Usually they are about 80% accurate, but they goofed on this one! My area is supposed to be broiling hot and wet this summer. They got broiling hot right, but not the wet. We have a really reliable amatuer weather guy here... he puts the TV weather guys to shame! Chad says there is no relief in sight maybe to the end of June and beyond. Was reading that the price of beef is going to skyrocket because farmers in Kansas and elsewhere are in a drought so severe, there will be no hay to feed the cattle and they are selling them off. Thankfully we have a freezer with a quarter beef in it!
