Gerry,
Early in the morning the kitties are wanting their food!
Willow is a real food-hound, and Dude follows her around whenever she starts yowling for food. He's like her little shadow. If Willow walks to her bowl, Dude goes over to his. I had them on automatic feeders but Willow won't eat unless an actual human gives her the food so it ended up being pointless.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone and Welcome to the weekend. Connie hope you are enjoying the Eagles State Convention! Hagatha my kitties as they got older use to howl during the night too...sometimes for food and sometimes just for attention. They are such independent creatures...they know what they want and when they want it! Double dark brew is on along with strong breakfast tea...got some of Connie's danish, bagels, and donuts for you all to enjoy too. Happy Friday! Gerry

Ugh, Gerry. That's a bit too early to be waking up.
Doing some packing this morning, though the sale of my house is not going well and may collapse; all to do with my neighbours with whom I share the property. Long story and boring, but the sale of this place has been one disaster after another with my neighbours sabotaging me at every turn, and I'm almost ready to throw in the towel.
If that does happen I can force them to do all the work on their side that they have neglected (we are a condo) starting with their decrepit roof, which is what may ultimately scuttle my sale. Then there's the illegal wiring they have in their basement from when they tried to build an illegal suite last year.

How awful, hagatha. I hope you don't have to bring out the big guns on these people, but if you do, nail them. Are they actively sabotaging the sale or is it just their lack of upkeep?

It's both lack of upkeep and interference with everyone who comes to view the property.
I have the law on my side, though, and I know that law well because I was a condo property manager for years. I can handle recalcitrant condo owners. And now I take off the gloves.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good and glad to hear you are taking off the gloves, hagatha. NO ONE can be allowed to tank a sale of your home. They need to back the blank off or there will be consequences. Good for you!

Sorry to hear of your neighbour's interference with the sale hagatha, and I wish you well in resolving the issues.
The problem is that the very existence of an unpleasant and or disputatious occupant of part of a condo can be enough to discourage a purchaser, and of course any active dispute has to be disclosed: I worked in The Cayman Islands for a couple of years and my clients included condo management committees/companies dealing with recalcitrant owners.
Do you think the neighbour is just being vindictive, or may perhaps be trying to buy your property cheaply (and/or even hoping you will buy his to get rid of him...)?
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

No cooking two days in a row! As you know, we have German family here for several weeks. Guenter cooked for me last night as I worked a Wagon Days event at Longmeadow and was hot and tired when I got home. And we're going in town today for a Father's Day BBQ at step-son's house. Well, technically, I did cook a little - just put a zucchini slice casserole in the oven.
Happy Father's Day to all GB dads!

Do you think the neighbour is just being vindictive, or may perhaps be trying to buy your property cheaply (and/or even hoping you will buy his to get rid of him...)? My neighbours tried to build an illegal rental suite in their strata lot last year, just after John died, and I put a stop to it because it violated all sorts of laws and almost cost us our Strata Insurance. He's asking every potential buyer if they would allow a rental suite, even though he knows it's not legal. Of course nobody wants that kind of person living next door. Their motivation is that they spent a lot of money for nothing and are blaming me for it since I put a stop to it, and now they're desperate to have someone say yes. I don't think it's maliciousness; I think they're just really unsophisticated people who screwed up and are trying to find a way out and aren't capable of having any empathy for me. I'm going to tell them that if the current deal falls through I'm going to move anyway and rent the place to 4-5 foreign students. That might put a stop to it.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning all It's a strong coffee morning for me. We're having unseasonably cold and wet weather right now, which is wonderful for the garden and means I don't have to water my plants. I will find out about the house sale in the next couple of days. I'm expecting bad news since that seems to be the way my life trends at the moment. I'm so stressed that my face has gone bright red, like a sunburn, and itches like crazy. That's a first for me! Not the most attractive look, I must say. It really is a spectacular shade of red! My cats are talking to each other right now...playtime is about to start! There's usually a lot of cooing and hooting and then the pouncing and chasing starts.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
