Ugh. It's stove-cleaning for me today. The stove itself isn't so bad but the racks are defeating me and all of the "easy" and "foolproof" methods I read about don't work. It's a two-day job.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone. Dark roast Sumatra coffee, Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water in the Break Room. Chores, projects, and errand or two, DnD and a good book later this evening. Yes indeed Connie, enjoy the weekend and hug someone. Best wishes with your stove-cleaning Hagatha...what you need is a 7-hour raging sand storm in which to hang your racks to sand blast them clean (just like in the Star Trek episode "Mudd's Women" with Harcourt Fenton Mudd).

Harcourt Fenton Mudd. One of the most memorable scallywags ever.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, I take my racks outside and spray them down with Easy-Off Oven Cleaner. I assume you have something like that up there?
A really nice slow Sunday morning with Gerry's double dark brew! Only ones I had to feed this morning were the hummingbirds! No Germans, no hubby, no dogs or cats! Ahhh.....
Have a relaxing Sunday, Gameboomers!

Draclvr, my oven and the racks were left for a very long time sine we had other priorities. 0urs is a massive gas stove with no self-clean, so it's a horrendous job. I used to no-fume Easy Off on the oven and it was okay, but in the end SOS pads and detergent pods worked better. The racks have been soaking in detergent pods in the bathtub for days and every now and then I go in and scrub a bit more off. Ultimately it won't be perfect, but it's the best I can do.
I was so tired today I stopped packing and just lay down with my Willow, who is almost as big as a comforter and serves much the same purpose. Though it must be said that my actual comforter has never nipped me on the arm. Dude won't get up on the bed, of course, since the dark fiend is up there, but he cruises around chirring until he finds a spot to curl up.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I tried the no-fume stuff and it doesn't work worth a darn! I put a towel over my face when I spray the real stuff!

Good Morning everyone. Welcome to a new week! The usual extra double dark brew is ready along with some strong tea. Hagatha I saw on the news this morning about the flooding in Canada...are you experiencing any where you are? Willow sounds like a lap cat...how big is she? Poor Dude is probably too intimidated by Willow to join you for a nap! Hope you all enjoy a nice Monday! Gerry

Gerry, we have no flooding here on the east coast of Vancouver Island. The worst of it is in Halifax and the surrounding area, I believe.
My neighbour's sister has had to evacuate her home in the BC Interior because of fires in the area.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Finally we have some rain, really heavy rain at that. At least the coastal fires will be under control now.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone. The usual extra strong brew is ready along with tea to start the day. No change isn our weather...expecting another hot, muggy, buggy day with a threat of some severe storms later. Have to get some fresh fruit and veggies at the market this morning, gas for the car, and maybe a stop at our library. Enjoy your day! Gerry

Hi, oldbroad! Nice to see you here... Just got home from my annual checkup/Medicare visit. All is well in spite of my age... well, except for my knees. They don't hurt, but I have to go down steps one at a time. Just got results that say severe arthritis! What?! So, guess I have to go see orthopedics now.
And now I'll head out to the tomato forest in this 97 degree heat to pick tomatoes. Oh, my they are SO good!

It's still pouring. The coastal forests needed it.
This time next week I'll be in my new house. WooHoo!
Draclvr, I'm sorry to hear about the arthritis. This getting older stuff really stinks sometimes. I have fairly bad arthritis in the base of my thumbs, especially on my mouse hand. It can be an impediment when it flares up, but I push through and game on anyway. Witcher 3 versus arthritis? No contest. Witcher wins every time.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
