Well, I don't know what's wrong with me. Once again, I solved a puzzle but the game would not accept my solve. Very simple to see that I had the solution correct. Chapter 4, some gears where you had to place a certain symbol in the specific place in each of the gears. Impossible that I'm looking at it wrong. The symbol is in each place where it belongs. This time it was a simple enough puzzle to reset and do it with the steps the game wanted me to use, rather than skip the puzzle, but it does put a damper on an otherwise nice game. frown

Mystery Case Files - The Dalimar Legacy

Picked up this MCF game when it came out; and was dismayed that the "flickering" which affects many recent games, was so bad that I soon gave up playing it. Some time later, I got into Obduction, and was forced (did I say forced, really?) into installing a video card and adding memory. Obduction ran just fine, and so did Firmament, following some serious tweaking of the game options.

That being said, I forgot that I even had the Dalimar Legacy until I saw someone mention it today. Started the game; switched to full-screen, and Boom! it runs perfectly. So that's what casual game I am playing. WooHoo.

Otherwise, I am playing Myst III Exile. MYST games aren't quite casual, and they aren't quite adventures. I feel they are in a land of their own. I actually pre-ordered Exile, and it appeared in my mailbox on the day of issue. That was fun. Included was a Squee T-shirt, and a few odds and ends. The bad news I am utterly stuck; lost in Edanna and can't find my way out through the "other hollow log." Three walkthroughs haven't helped. Maybe there's a video somewhere.

By the way, that doesn't say anything about my (not the computer's) memory, right? think

Welcome back to the casual board Tally Ho and your return to the Mystery Case Files series. It's so good to know that the video card and memory are working so well for your gaming!

I plan to replay all the Myst games one of these days, maybe next year. I'm sure you'll get unstuck soon enough. Are you going to try Syberia - The World Before? I'm still playing it but I don't like it too much.

Tally Ho, you should be able to find video walkthroughs for the game on YouTube.

Still playing Restaurant Rush but it's getting a lot harder. Not sure if I will be able to finish it or not.

I am playing Too Much Stuff 3 Collectors Edition . I really like these games. smile Before this I dragged out a couple of games from 2007-2008. G.H.O.S.T Hunters the Haunting Of Majesty Manor and Pirateville. Simple Hidden Object games but fun (for me at least!) These were two of the first games besides Big City Adventure San Francisco that I purchased from Big Fish. thumbsup

I am glad to hear that you are liking some of these newer HOG games, Penny Lane! I do think this series from Boomzap is doing well and that there will be more of this type. I enjoy a pure HOG sometimes too, depending upon my mood. wave

I finished Dark Romance: The Swan Sonata and have started Enchanted Kingdom: Fog of Rivershire. I'm liking both of these series pretty much.

I played about 70% of Restaurant Rush and then kept failing the levels. A different strategy was in order but I had enough for now. I loaded up Jane's Hotel: New Story CE and just finished 80 out of 80 levels. It took me three days and I had a lot of fun with it.

Just started Haunted Domains.

I've played Enchanted Kingdom: Fog of Rivershire but I'm pretty sure that I haven't played any of the games in the series after that one. I too like both series (Enchanted Kingdom and Dark Romance).

I have Haunted Domains on a disc that includes Oddly Enough Pied Piper. I've not played either of them.

I don't think I have Oddly Enough Pied Piper. Maybe something to consider in future during a sale.

I like Haunted Domains and in particular I like the spooky themes.

I am playing Hidden Expedition- Titanic. I have played this several times over the years . I like the little bits of Titanic history included after each section is completed. Also those old photographs are really cool! I never tire of this HOG. smile

I am going to have to replay that one, Marlene. I don't think I have played it again since it was originally released. Thank you for the reminder. smile

Recently I picked up Hidden Mysteries: The Fateful Voyage (Titanic) and am looking forward to playing that as well.

There's also 1912: Titanic Mystery as well as Inspector Magnusson: Murder on the Titanic, and also Secrets of the Titanic 1912-2012 and Titanic's Keys to the Past. I don't know anything about any of these, though, apart from their titles.

I'm in the middle of Secret City: The Human Threat. Had to get out of the game last night unable to solve a puzzle so I'll see how it goes today. I am getting really good at hitting that "skip" button now laugh .

Ha Ha! That skip button in the games is a lifesaver! I run out of patience! I really overuse it! dance
