Greetings to all - with some humour for the wordsmiths: I once dated a guy who broke up with me because I have only 9 toes. Yes, he was lack toes intolerant.
I've started telling everyone about the benefits of eating dried grapes. It's all about raisin awareness. I've started investing in stocks: beef, vegetable, chicken. One day I hope to be a bouillianaire. If you boil a funny bone, it becomes a laughing stock. Now that's humerus.
I accidentally rubbed ketchup in my eyes. Now I have Heinzsight. Did you know muffins spelled backwards is what you do when you take them out of the oven? I was walking in the jungle and saw a lizard on his hind legs telling jokes. I turned to a local tribal leader and said, "That lizard is really funny!" He replied, "That's not a lizard. He's a stand-up chameleon."
I tried to come up with a carpentry pun that woodwork. I thought I nailed it but nobody saw it.
Singing in the shower is fine until you get soap in your mouth. Then it's a soap opera. The Black-Eyed Peas can sing us a song but the chick peas can only hummus one.
Then there was the time Fruit of the Loom took Hanes to court... it was a brief case. How much does a chimney cost? Nothing, it's on the house.
My friend said she wouldn't eat cow's tongue because it came out of a cow's mouth. I gave her an egg...
Once upon a time there was a King who was only 12 inches tall. He was a terrible King but he made a great ruler. My friend Jack says he can communicate with vegetables. That's right... Jack and the beans talk.
I want to tell you about a girl who eats only plants. You probably have not heard of herbivore. I was struggling to understand how lightning works, and then it struck me.
Six cows were smoking joints and playing poker. That's right. The steaks were pretty high. I went to the paint store to get thinner. It didn't work.

Ah, puns. The best way to start the morning!
EDIT -- so, I have a nearly empty house. I have a comfy chair, a computer, some kitchen stuff, a bed, and two cats. There are some boxes and I haven't packed up the art, but it's pretty odd, and I'll be living this way for two weeks.
The cats were hiding all day, of course, and then they were freaked at the empty house. But Dude has discovered an advantage. Normally, when he wants to play, he races around the house and shouts, and it's annoying. Now, with the echo in the empty rooms, he can be really loud, and it's super annoying, and he likes it because it's impossible to ignore. He's like a little energizer bunny tonight. He has furry feet and he slides everywhere, and the combination of sliding and banking around corners and shouting is pretty funny.
Willow has considered the situation, had a look around, decided that it's just more monkey business, and went back to sleep.

Good Morning Connie and everyone. Hagatha your cats are so entertaining! I love hearing your stories about Dude and Willow! I watched the Tour De France this morning...the time trials from yesterday. Lex your puns were fun! Thanks for sharing. Lots of extra strong brewed coffee awaits you all! Have a Happy hump Day! Gerry

Hagatha, your cats' antics in the empty house make me literally laugh out loud this morning! The Germans asked what was so funny and I told them... they just have a very elderly cat who showed up on their doorstep about 9 years ago. He was chipped and they found out he belonged to an American military family who had recently been stationed in Schweinfurt. They had been sent back to the states and were now stationed at Fort Leonard Wood here in Missouri. When they were deployed to Germany, they had taken both dogs and three cats with them as they are treasured family members. When Clyde disappeared when they were packing up, they were heartbroken. Petra contacted them through Facebook and when they were here for their summer visit, we drove down to the Army base to see them. They brought many pictures of Clyde and also brought some things from Germany for them. They were so grateful to know where their cat had landed and that he was in a happy home.
Lex, that was quite a story!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

The only time Willow taps me is when she wants food (which is all day long).
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm glad my cats are entertaining. They sure are good company, except when they aren't. Willow is getting seriously fat. I'm going to have to get her up and at it on her leash once we've moved and there's a safe space for her to be walked.
Draclvr, that's such a great story. I've always wished that Dude's people could know he's in a good home. He was so obviously loved, just the way he's so sweet and affectionate and easy to handle.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Cleaning and swigging coffee at the same time today. Although most of my stuff is gone there's still a bit to do, all the last-minute fiddly things.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

We've gone from extreme drought and heat to constant rain and severe thunderstorms. The humidity outside is 91% and the windows are so fogged up you can't see outside! Mud, mud everywhere. Smelly Bloodhound sleeping and snoring in the living room. Germans went to St. Louis to a shopping mall because it's hard to do anything else!
Hagatha, what seemed like an impossible slog seems to be going quickly now!
I have so many things to do outside which I can't do. Perhaps a day for some gaming! That's the ticket!
Happy Thursday, Gameboomers

I had enough tomatoes for our first BLT's yesterday! There were also enough for Guenter to make one of his tomato salads too plus he made a German cucumber salad. We feasted!
A break in the heat, humidity and constant rain today with a nice high of 80 degrees F.
And it's FRIDAY for those of you who still work!

More packing for me today. Both cats have discovered the joys of bubble-wrap. Snap, pop, snap.
