Good Morning Lex, soot, Connie, Draclvr, hagatha and everyone. Lex I really loved the "Ever Wonders"...especially the one about "Congress"! Soot we are finally going to get a little relief from the heat and humidity today! We did have a tornado in the state...not that far away from us. Connie did you have a fun time last night? Pizza and homemade spaghetti sauce sounds delicious Draclvr! You are amazing! Hagatha you are starting on a new adventure with Dude and Willow! I'm sure it does feel very strange but it will be okay once you actually get settled in your new home. When is the moving day? Hope you all enjoy a peaceful Sunday! Gerry

Gerry, moving day is Tuesday morning. I'm almost ready now.
My poor cats. They know something big is happening, they just can't work out what. I hope that having ground-level windows onto the garden will be enough for them for a while. I'll throw some bird feeders out there for entertainment. The dynamic will be different since it's neutral territory, not Willow's domain.
I'm going for several cups of strong coffee this morning.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning everyone ... I'm with you Hagatha, I'm up for strong coffee all morning and early afternoon as it's my favority morning fare. Wishing you and your little ones a smooth move and transition...and yes, the move and new territory is strange at first but you and Willow will grow in to it! Gerry, the coffee is fantastic, I appreciate you and Connie getting up early to make treats and drink for the Break Room. Have a good day Drac and Lex. Take care all and to all a good day

Good Sunday morning!
Well, I survived yesterday... barely. Twelve quarts of spaghetti sauce and 15 pints of pizza sauce! When I go down to the basement some cold winter night to get a jar of spaghetti sauce, I won't remember that it was 107 degrees in the garage yesterday! I used one of the pints of pizza sauce to make home made pizza for the last supper for the Germans. Then I still had to go down to close the horse Ranch at 9:00. I'm way too old and fat to work this hard!
A big storm went through later in the afternoon and we all did the "Midwestern" thing... got another beer and moved the lawn chairs to the front of the garage to watch! At least it cooled things down considerably.
Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? Think I'll do just that!
Enjoy your Sunday, Gameboomers!

Draclvr, that's a lot of tomato sauce!
I took your advice and bought the heavy-duty Easy Off, and the stove is, if not 100% clean, at least 95% of the way there; clean enough to pass muster. Even so, I've spent over 10 hours cleaning the stove since this time yesterday. If I had another two or three days I would do a bit more but the arthritis in my hands is blazingly painful right now and I don't think I can do any more scrubbing. Anyway, I'm out of time. After this experience I'll never buy a gas stove again, and certainly one that doesn't have a self-clean function.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I will ONLY cook on a gas stove! And I cook a lot. But the self-clean function is wonderful. Mine just uses distilled water and it works great.

Now that's it's clean, the oven won't ignite. A day and a half before I move, and the oven burner won't ignite. I can't imagine how I could have damaged it because it's not even in the part of the oven I cleaned; it's down underneath. No time to even get a contractor in here. It's just unbelievable.
I have to say, with this sale, if anything could go wrong, it did go wrong.
================================
However, a Humpback just spent the last 15 minutes breaching right in front of my house. I heard it breathe, then a loud pop like a gunshot, and raced outside, and there it was, like a goodbye present.

Good morning all! I hope that you were suitably rested yesterday Drac, and I see that like my wife Linda, hagatha is obsessive about leaving a previous home immaculate: perhaps the stove igniter just got wet and will work later... I could not resist posting this rather near the knuckle humour: CHECKERS??? There are important questions to be answered about recent LGBT bathroom legislation and whether transgender people will be permitted to use a restroom of the gender that they "identify" with or be required to use the restroom of their biological gender. If the latter, will public restrooms be required to have a Genital Inspection Station posted at the entrance to all public restrooms? Who will have to pay these Pecker Checkers, the people using the restroom, or the entity that owns the restroom? And how much money will a Pecker Checker be paid to check peckers? Or, do we pay a Pecker Checker by the number of peckers checked? How many peckers can a Pecker Checker check if a Pecker Checker could check peckers? What has this country come to when the Department of Labour has to create a new job description of Politically Correct Restroom Service Inspectors? Their Motto Will Be ...........??? "If you gotta pee - We gotta see!"
Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Good morning! Yes, I did just chill yesterday and feel like a new woman today!
Hagatha, that happened to my old oven out in the garage after I ran the cleaning cycle about a month ago. I waited until the next day and then it ignited. Hopefully, it will ignite before you leave.
I only have time for a quick cup of Gerry's coffee because we are leaving in about 15 minutes to take the Germans to the airport for their trip back to Germany. It's been great, but MAN, we are ready to have our house back to ourselves!
Happy birthday, soot!

I tried the oven again this morning and it doesn't ignite. I think I must have jostled a wire or something. My realtor tells me to just leave it and the new owners can deal with it. Given how they and their realtor treated me during the sale process, I'm happy to do that.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
