It's only 61 Degrees here this morning! That, after days and days of hotter-than-normal heat. I'm actually cold.
Finding places for my art (which is mostly carved Native masks and some of John's photos) Is not easy; I have a lot less wall space here. I did give one mask to one of John's dearest friends; it was the largest one and I'd never really liked it that much because it was mostly orange. I also have two huge, very heavy framed Robert Bateman prints.
Dude has finally shut up. I was ready to wring the little monster's neck after four days of him padding around the house meowing literally every second from the moment I got up to the moment I went to bed. He's finally realized I'm not opening that door unless he's wearing his harness and leash. If I could get him leash-walking I wouldn't need to build a catio. I like hanging out in my garden with a cat. I get to see it from a different perspective.

Sounds like we're all going to be scorching this week. Poor hubby is out on coyote patrol with my shotgun. We've lost several chickens lately and have seen two of them hanging around. It's a lovely 96 degrees out there, so I don't know how long he'll last. I'm going to go out and take a shift later.
Another day of NOTHING! And I even got some good gaming in. Have a very old Assassins Creed game I got for free that I've had installed for a long time, but never played very much. I haven't lost my touch after being away from gaming for several months!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good Morning Connie, soot, hagatha, Draclvr and everyone. Enjoying the extra dark brew this morning with a fresh pot ready for you all. Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. It is going to be warm and muggy here too today. Hagatha glad to hear all is going well with your getting your new home to feel more like "home"...hanging your wall art. Good to hear Dude is quieting down as well! Draclvr enjoy the game...it is always fun to get back into a game especially after being away from gaming for a while! Happy day wished for you all! Gerry

Well, break's over! Just came out of the tomato forest and I'm dying here! Temp this morning was 85 degrees with 84% humidity! It felt like trying to breathe underwater!
A friend is coming out today to process a bunch in my Italian tomato press, but that will hardly make a dent!

We've still got that thin blanket of smoke blocking the worst of the sun's rays and so it's still pretty nice here. I've got some friends coming over for a visit and then I need to get back to the unpacking. I'm also hand-watering my garden since some of my trees are starting to wilt and we're not allowed to use our watering systems right now.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

mnday, I was given some elk meat a long time ago and I didn't care for it either - too gamey. I don't think wasting your good tomatoes on it will help... your hubby's idea sounds much better! A friend came out yesterday and we processed 5 gallons of sauce for her through my electric tomato press. She took it home and is turning it into salsa, pizza, spaghetti and chili sauces. She also picked the rest of my pepperoncini peppers and is going to can them. Another friend stopped by and took home 50 pounds of my Opalka paste tomatoes. It was so HORRID out yesterday with humidity never getting lower than 76%, we all grabbed a beer and hit the pool. So, while they are canning today, I am taking another day OFF!
Connie, my regular league bowling starts Thursday night... not sure I'm ready for it!
Stay cool, Gameboomers!

We did have rain in the forecast, but it looks as though it's not happening after all.
Dude has taken to pacing the house howling all day long and nothing will shut him up. He's so desperate to get outside. At this point I'm certain he's been an outdoor cat at some point in his life.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Temps forecast to be 99 degrees today. The humidity is so high all the windows have water running down the outside and I can't see out!
Opened up my 15th ten-pound bag of sugar this morning for the hummingbirds.
Yesterday was hubby's 79th birthday! He doesn't really want any celebrations, but he did go in to his local watering hole as he always does on Tuesday and was feted quite well there!

Draclvr, that sounds like awful heat. I was actually cold yesterday, and today is very overcast, so it's going to be cool again. No rain in sight, though, I spent quite a while watering everything yesterday. At least rhodos perks up almost immediately, but some of the trees are bone dry.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The only way to describe it is "ghastly," hagatha. I feel so sorry for the people who have to continue to work in this oppressive heat. 101 tomorrow and 102 on Friday.

I can't imagine having to work outside all day in that kind of heat. It's really dangerous.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
