How is everyone doing? I just hit a snag. I made it to Varn, but thought I would zip down to Abdul's Resort to trade in my golden pyramids for prizes. I town portalled back to Blackshire where I had stashed my goodies only to find the chest empty with all my valuables gone, including my tiger statuette. The town must have respawned and everything reset. The stupid mistake I made was to not save enough under different saved games slots. In order to retrieve my stuff I need to load in a much earlier game, get my stuff and carry on. Unfortunately most of my Dragonsand work will have to be redone. I'm kicking myself. Oh Ingie, don't you wish you could reverse time? I remember just a short time ago reading here a post, and I can't remember who posted it without going back and checking, but they mentioned about areas respawning and things going missing. At that time I remember thinking that I should keep an eye on that chest in Blackshire with my stuff in it. I filed it away in the back of my mind, and obviously forgot about it. Oops... Live and learn.

Skippy that person was me - I had some very nice plate armor disappear at the Temple of Baa in Free Haven. I now just town portal out when my inventory is full and sell while the selling is good. That is just the pits Skippy I am in VARN and getting the socks knocked off me.

Skippy I'm sure I'll still be in Varn when you get here - I'll still be in Varn when Ingie gets here I am periodically leaving VARN to take out a few more dragons. Seems while I was "gone" the darn place respawned and all the critters I killed already are back. The only good thing is that the dragons carry a might load of gold and I need it to train more. My crew is level 77 right now but you'd never know it the way they are getting knocked around. I have been saving the same way you have - just over the top of the previous game. Not a good idea and I know it but I keep doing it [sigh]

I've been breaking it down to towns, and then like the Lair..we won't talk about that nasty blob stuff..they seem to inhale some spells..seems as though fire is all...hmm, I haven't tried Ice yet.. In the warlords hangout..down to one room and the food processor..gads they're hard also. We in the low 40's now and just about master in most, although some not until we go to Paradise Island and Dragon sand..did kill the old dragon!! Ingie

Well I have my Alienware back and it's running as it should (so far) and there's so much interest in these games that I found a deal for the platinum edition and got it. I have been checking all the hints etc and there is one for getting a lot of gold at the beginning of the game that says "Go to the well as soon as you walk into the village. Put the money in the bank, then kill yourself. Repeat this as many times as desired.." I can't find any well that gives you money when you first start and when I died and got reborn or whatever I was broke. Anyone know what this means? I found the info here: http://www.gamewinners.com/DOSWIN/blmightmagic6.htm

I'm not all that familiar with the cheats/exploits, but that one doesn't sound right. There is no well in New Sorpigal that just gives out money.

Ingie Didn't sound right to me either but I always need an edge when I start out these games. When they said kill yourself I'm sure they meant just stand there and take a beating without defending yourself until you die. I now have a question that I can't seem to find in the manual. Forgive me for taking you all back to the beginning but when I equip a crossbow the character has their melee weapon in their hand and the crossbow on their back. How do I select which one I want to use?

Ahh so, that's cool. Thank you Ingie.
This game looks to be a long game so maybe this game will last me until Oblivian (got it right this time) comes out.
So Far (knock on wood) my computer is doing what it's supposed to.
Maybe they finally got it this time.

Hi all,
Another question that I can't find answers for in the manual. In fact there's not a lot of info in the manual.
How do you increase the basic stats ie strength, intelligence etc.?
When I level up I can increase my skills but I can't find a way to increase attributes.

The training centers only level you up, you can raise your stats by finding good armor/weapons, and also by clicking on magic barrels you will find all throughout the game. Certain potions will raise your stats temporarily, and some really powerful potions raise them permanently.

John there are also rings and amulets that will increase your strength, magic, intelligence, speed etc. So make sure you pick those up and have someone in your party be able to identify or you'll spend lots of hard earned gold paying someone else to do it.

Thanks everyone. Now there are more things to hunt for. So I guess I'll just look at everything that doesn't move and shoot everything that does.
