Well let's see - my group just finished clearing out The Silver Helm Stronghold. I have the Ankh and need to give it to Anthony Stone. We've also cleared out Snergal's cave and have to return the axe to someone (I forget who). I also have around 75,000 gold. I can finally train some more and buy a few new spells. I also tried to go into Dragonsand - yea, right. Before I could turn around fourteen dragons zapped me and that was that Other than that we're tooling right along.

Hi all, Syd, the best thing to use in Dragonsand is flying and invisibility to explore around. The little town is to the south...south west area. You also have a special rock when you find all of the oblisks to get the treasure from. The new World Computer building is there and The temple of Varn also there. Also any chests you find have really really good stuff in them.

Skippy - so sorry to hear about your computer's demise but glad to hear you're up and running again. VHL - from whom and where does one buy an invisibility spell? I've never seen one for sale.

There is no invisibility spell in M&M VI, I think VHL may be thinking of M&M VII, which is where that spell first appeared.

Skippy, you can join the dark magic guild in either White Cap or Blackshire, and there are also dark spell merchants in those towns as well. Be aware that the spell shops are open only between 10pm and 2am.

Hi all,
Oops sorry about that. I may have been thinking about MM7 when I mentioned the invisibility spell.
You get your ability to use spells in the spell shops. when you get to the shop click on each person and if they can learn the skill then you can buy it for them. It will show up so you can click on it to buy it.

I seem to be at a stand still right now (literally, my little group is standing still in New Sorpigal by the fountain) I finally made it into Dragonsand and managed to kill some of the "locals" but there's no way I can get anywhere near the Obelisk. I think I need to regroup - train some more and buy a slew of new spells (luckily I have right around 105,000 gold) before I tackle that area again. I have five more obelisks to find, need to put one more gold statue on a pedistal and do the almost impossible at this point High Council quests (I've managed to complete the easier ones - now the hard ones are left). That's my story and I'm sticking to it and <img border="0" alt="[newyear]" title="" src="graemlins/newyear.gif" /> fellow Might and Magickers

You're doing well Syd. I took one look at the monsters in Dragonsand and chickened out. The sound of our clucking could be heard for miles. I'm in White Cap looking for a place where we can learn Dark Magic. We're also clearing out Icewind Keep to get the dragon tower keys.

Well got all my statues delivered - still can't get to the obelisk in Dragonsand. Even bought a couple of nasty Dark Magic spells (and man were they expensive) but they don't seem to do much good against those so and so dragons. I need to get my rep lower in order to become a master of Dark Magic - I'm merely despicable right now Guess I have to wipe out a few more townspeople to keep that downward sprial going Icewind Keep is tough Skippy - took me awhile to get through it. I tried to get into Kreigspire Castle - that lasted about two seconds and I was toast. Speaking of Dark Magic spells - is Armageddon worth getting? It's rather expensive and sounds like it kills everything in sight including your group.

Armageddon is just a fun spell...save your game, cast it in town and watch the townies get blown up. I never really used it elsewhere since it doesn't do enough damage to high level enemies, plus it hurts your party, but it is quite useful when you need to lower your reputation to get mastery in Dark Magic.

Hi all,
Oh Armageddon will lower your rep alright.
I used it only one time in these games until I found out that it only kills the town people and the monsters laughed at me. Hmph.

Oh those rude monsters.. I have learned one thing in this game, well I guess re-enforced one thing and that is SAVE, before trying anything new..water to spells..save first. I'm a mess..don't know for sure what I want to work on..or where I want to be. I am on one of the Bootleg Isles looking for the long lost Shyrll..she may be in a cookpot, wouldn't surprise me one bit. But I do have this new place to enter..Temple of the Sun..kill us dead..just a bunch of monks, but tough little guys..but I'll get them yet..miss our little evil face, but picture it please Ingie

Well if Armageddon only kills townies I don't think I'll spend 30,000 gold for it just yet (especially when I'm broke again - I can't believe how fast 107,000 gold went - geeez). These monsters laugh enough at me right now - I don't need to give them any more excuses Ingie - don't feel bad - I'm a mess too - don't know who should do what so everyone is kinda all over the board on skill points - I've wasted so many it's pitiful. Hopefully on the next game I'll be a bit smarter on what to do but hey we're plugging along. Temple of the Sun was hard - took me forever to kill all those monks. I figured they'd be a piece of cake since my guys had armor and arrows - yea right. Two energy balls and my group was heading for the door with their tails between their legs. We are currently in the Warlord's Fortress. We finished the Devil's Outpost and now I have all but two High Council approvals. I should have one more but that Silvertongue guy is still giving me a thumbs down (with a name like Silvertongue I don't trust him - but I sure hope it doesn't have anything to do with my lousy rep).

Know exactly what you mean Syd, you nailed it for me..I'll work a bit on this, but..it really is hard..we're only level 20..as in just level 20.. I'm going to try a few different spells and see what works.. You're right, I know right off the bat a few things I would change..but, that's how I learn, I have to first make the mistake, then I get it.. Ingie

Don't know what level I was before I manage to wipe out the monks - probably higher than 20 My guys are around level 42 I think - I need to train some more but first I need the cash. I do have one question and I know it's late in the game but I just thought of it. If I assign skill points to say my Archer and she's not a master in that skill - is it a waste of points to give them to her? In otherwords does it do any good if they can't be master etc at that particular skill (I don't have money to up the skill for now but I have skill points just sitting there waiting to be doled out.)

Ingie, Sharyll is being held prison in a dungeon on one of the smaller islands in the Bootleg Bay zone, north of the big section; you can Water Walk there if you have that spell.
Syd, that Silvertongue is obstinate, no? Try finishing the other council quests and reporting back to them, see what happens..
Also, you can continue to put points in a skill beyond the expert or master baseline and they will still get an increase.

Anyway there are students of Fire it states; inside..I can't get down the ramp fast enough..we all get killed..even with fire protection..I have no idea what I am to do?? any hints..or heck just tell me, forgo the hints Ingie

I found Gharik's forge to be little too tough for me. I got down the ramp eventually, but farther in there were fire spirits and magicians, as well as a series of bridges, and I just couldn't get any further so I set aside that quest until later. Most people think that the forge is the toughest quest in the game. Make sure you hang onto the key to the laboratory. I found cold/ice spells useful for putting out the fire monsters.
