It's 56 degrees here - feels wonderful! Perfect for my window open to the hummingbird porch listening to them twitter and chirp while I enjoy my double dark brew from Gerry.
It's cool enough that even my two indoor/outdoor/where ever they want to be cats have been sleeping inside at night. Of course, I instantly have tumbleweeds of cat hair everywhere.
A trip to town today for groceries and a haircut and then it's date night tonight.
Happy Friday, Gameboomers!

It's a holiday weekend here in the US - Labor Day. It traditionally a day for BBQ get togethers. We usually go to my husband's sister's old clubhouse down by the Bourbeuse River for a huge family rib BBQ. But hubby woke up with no voice this morning and doesn't feel great, so we might be doing a little BBQ here by ourselves.
Smoking more jalapeno peppers today.
Isn't it time for the hummingbirds to head to Central America???? I'm going to finish up 160 pounds of sugar by the end of tomorrow! I've never had this many.
Enjoy your long weekend if you are in the US!

We've got a Labour Day weekend too. That means traffic jams everywhere, but after that the roads should be clear for the next 6 months.
Today is chores day; mowing the lawn and giving everything a good watering.
I haven't been feeding hummingbirds this year. I plan to next year once I'm more settled.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

LOL! Well, maybe National Hummingbird Day yesterday explains it - for yesterday, Lex! But I just put out another gallon this morning - which means I did have to open up that 17th ten-pound bag of sugar! Can I claim them as dependents and get a deduction on my taxes?!
Hubby got sick yesterday, so we will not be going to the huge family BBQ today. Don't tell anyone, but I'm not all that sad! Hope you enjoy yours, connie!
Did have to turn the AC back on late yesterday. Sure enjoyed those open windows for several days!
Enjoy your Labor Day, everyone!

Looks like I'm bringing the coffee this morning. I've got some lovely medium roast beans from a local roastery, nice and chocolatey. Perfect for a strong espresso drink.
I'm off to my new walking group on Qualicum.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thank you for that coffee, hagatha! I'm very late to the break room this morning. I MUST take a break from processing tomatoes today and catch up on dirty floors and laundry. Although I did take a big tray of dehydrated smoked jalapenos out of the dehydrator this morning. But all I have to do with those is grind up for chipotle powder.
After 95 degrees yesterday, it's very cool today and I hear thunder rumbling somewhere. Hubby said he is going to close up the pool today. I always hate to see it go, but the skimmer fills up with leaves 10 times a day.
Ah well, guess it time to bid summer farewell!

It's about 25 minutes north of Nanaimo on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Qualicum is very pretty. It's a well-heeled retirement and tourist town, really nice though. I actually live in Nanoose Bay, not the little town itself, which is really just a mall with a few stores, but out towards the end of a slender peninsula called Beachcomber.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I had googled Qualicum to find out what it meant, wondering if it was some kind of breakfast food or stimulant that hagatha was "on" when walking...! As Drac says, it sounds lovely.
