I, too, have always tried to support Big Fish and was once quite a prolific customer.
(Having abandoned Steam years ago.)
However the new financial arrangements were a massive setback for me.
And my purchases now nearly always have to be though Sales of some sort and even the prices in THOSE are a stretch for my gaming fund 🙄
(I do, though, still prefer to buy the CE.)

Now my game and computer froze up while in a puzzle. I had to do a hard shut down. I could not get to my desktop. I hope it was the fault of the game and not my computer. I'm probably going to be using the guide for that puzzle when I go back in just in case something in the puzzle caused the problem.

Mad, you've been absent from this board for a good while. Are you taking a rest from casuals or from gaming?

Hi there Mad. I, too, hope you are feeling better.

Marian, I am enjoying Treasures of Mystery Island: Ghost Ship. It is the best FROG ever in terms of attention to game details. For example, clicks on objects not in play produce comments on the scene and game world that add to immersion, something I always give bonus points for.

I did have to start using a magnifying glass because the fragments are uniformly tiny.

Do you have any other suggestions? I have played and mostly replayed Dark Parables.

8dognight, I am so glad to hear that you like Treasures of Mystery Island. Not surprising that the developer is 5 BN, considering its excellence. I haven't played the two other games in the series that Marlene mentions, and I really should give them a try.

If I think of any other good FROG games, I will post about it here. As I mentioned previously, this game (along with its two sequels) is really good; however, there are some very tiny fragments as well as some mini-puzzles that were timed - a most regrettable design decision. In spite of these issues, I replayed Magic Encyclopedia in the last couple of years because I liked it so much otherwise. I also don't recall having any particular trouble with the timed puzzles, though, as it seemed the timer was pretty generous.

I forgot to mention that carrying around and using a Polynesian dictionary for translation are two delightful facets of Ghost Ship.

And I just finished Dark Parables: Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow CE. A well-made Dark Parables game as usual, but the main game was quite dark and dreary and it was good to see the game get lighter and brighter in the bonus game.

And I thought of another FROG that I played fairly recently: Autumn's Treasures: The Jade Coin. It was a nice game.

Me too, Marlene. If I never bought another game in my lifetime, I would not run out of games to play.

I found "Lost Lagoon- The trail Of Destiny" in my purchased games. I don't remember it so I will play it. I think it might be similar to the Robinson Crusoe games which I liked. Geez! The money I have spent on unplayed games! Unbelievable! lol

I started Lost Lagoons; Trail Of Destiny. It has some interactive features in the HO scenes which I like. There is a Lost Horizon's 2 which I will probably play after this one. smile

I'm playing Time Mysteries: The Ancient Spectres. It's quite good. Alas, I think I won't be able to finish because I failed to pick up an espalier for grape planting somewhere and several excursions through the map in time and space have failed to yield the object.

I haven't played these games yet but are you talking about the seedling in the glass container, both of which seem to be found in "Home 1830" according to this walkthrough.

Yes.

I had that poor seedling out of the ground, lying wilted and limp for 4 or 5 hours while I went back and forth between playing and my actual life.

Eventually I gave up and googled a walkthrough. I had failed to pick up a stick, an eensy tiny stick cleverly hidden in plain sight. I love it when developers are much smarter than I am. I mean that; I am not being ironic.
