Oh, we’ve had some of that cold, too, Marian. And LOTS of ice. But only sprinkles of snow, thankfully The “seasons” seem to be disappearing altogether !! (Summer turns to Winter and back again to Summer with very little of Spring or Autumn ) And then there were the floods

Good morning. It smells so good here in the break room this morning!
Connie, when I was "trying" to vacuum up all the cat hair yesterday, I found an ornament that Pita had batted into a corner under the couch last Christmas! Had to have a little sniffle over it. She is why all my ornament are now plastic!
Not much on the agenda today. Cold, but sunny. We sure could use some of your rain here, soot.
Happy Sunday!

More rain. Yesterday's storm brought down some small branches and a ton of leaves from my Wisteria, so I'd better get out there and clean the pond again. But first, some of that nice coffee.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning! Put the coffee on for other late arrivals. Another night staying up much too late reading!
Other than a trip to town to deposit my farm rent checks, don't have much on the agenda. Got the tree decorated yesterday. Need to get the smallish gifts for the Colorado grandkids wrapped, so I might do that today too. I want to take them with us when we fly out to Denver Friday. My oldest grand daughter is graduating from college on Saturday! Pretty excited for her!
Happy Monday!

I had a nice day gaming. I have noticed that as I get older, I can't sit all day -- my legs swell up and I get cramps in my legs and feet at night. I've been hopping on my e-bike a couple of times a day just for a 15-minute ride, and it makes a huge difference. For that reason I've put my bike in my office so there's no excuse for "forgetting." I also chase Dude up and down the long hallway a few times a day; he loves it and it seems to keep him calmer.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning. Just popping in to put the coffee on and then heading for the laundry.
Hagatha, the vision of you chasing Dude up and down the hallway made me laugh! Have fun bowling tonight, Connie!
Happy Tuesday!

Draclvr, he'll get Willow going sometimes, but she really wants to play hide/ambush instead of running games, so I'm the substitute runner. He starts shouting and races past my office a couple of times just to let me know that the game is on.
I'm off to shop for some goodies to make appetizers; I've been invited to a neighbourhood party down the road. I have to say, this is a really friendly neighbourhood.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good morning! Just popped in to put on the coffee.
Just doing all the last minute things to get ready for our trip out to Colorado over the weekend. Laundry is done, so today will tidy up around the house. I hate being gone and coming home to a messy house. It can be messy while I'm home, but not when I walk in after several days! Getting the Christmas gifts for the grandkids wrapped so we can take them with us.
When I got up this morning, I saw 4 deer grazing in the pasture and a huge red tailed hawk high up in a tree. Cool!
Happy Wednesday!

I'm definitely sleeping better since I bought my sound machine and started using the oil heater near the thermostat. I can't hear Willow in the morning, and the heat pump doesn't come on at night and wake me up. I suspect my heating bills will be a bit higher, but that little heater really heats the area. The house only drops 1.5 degrees C overnight. The other advantage is that I don't have to crank up the heat in the morning. Just a degree or so more and the house is nice and warm.
I think I'll start putting out songbird feeders. If I move the hooks to hang under the gazebo I won't have a problem with seeds sprouting, and it will give the cats something to look at. I haven't been feeding hummingbirds this year. There is a shortage of white sugar and the stores are limiting it. I'll grab a bag each time I go out and hopefully by the time we have a really bad cold snap I'll have enough to start feeding them. The Anna's start nesting and breeding in January.

Oh, raccoons... cute, but SO destructive!
I'm sure they will find you about the jury duty in due time. I saw several people get out of it the day I had to go. They were very generous about letting people get out of it.

I went to a neighbourhood party tonight, the fellow who lives just across the road from me. I met about 25 of my neighbours (some I had already met but never really had a chance to talk). What a great bunch of people. This place is paradise. Anyway, I now have three people to walk with, and probably a lot more once Christmas is over.

Good morning. I love popping in to the Break Room and smelling coffee and donuts! Just grabbing a cup of that Kona coffee and sitting down to my morning Wordle game.
Hagatha, your neighborhood does sound like a paradise of friends and neighbors!
Packing for the trip tomorrow. Flight isn't until 1, so we don't have to leave super early. It's about a 1 hour drive to the airport in St. Louis. My son shared the plans for the weekend yesterday. We will all drive up to Ft. Collins tomorrow night - a little over an hour drive - because grand daughter wants to go out to her favorite Japanese restaurant. Hubby is pretty apprehensive about that, but he will just have to try something new! As long as there is more than sushi - which I loathe - I'm OK. Then we will drive back to Denver. Saturday, we will drive back up to Ft. Collins for the graduation ceremony, which will thankfully be small - just her degree program. Which is Micro-Biology something with a bunch of big words behind it! I studied a lot of biology, chemistry etc., in college getting my degree in Wildlife Biology, but NOTHING like she has! We are very proud of her.
Happy Thursday!

LOL, Marian! My son says Denver has become kind of a little California too with the influx of people from California moving in. He said they are used to paying insane amounts of money for cracker box homes there, so are delighted to run up the cost of real estate in Denver to astronomical heights!
