Well that’s definitely another action to report - and boost your complaint, hagatha Have you considered writing to the company instead of phoning ?? (To be more formal.)

Good morning everyone. Sumatra bold roast, Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water in the Break Room. Hagatha, I agree with Mad...be sure to write a letter to the company with a 'noted' coordination copy to the insurance company--and use tracking, a delivery notice card, and/or reference numbers to ensure both receive your letter. You may also have the option of "rating the service provided" on their website or other online sources which list these services. Good luck! Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Good morning, all! Ah... Sumatra dark roast is perfect.
Nothing going on here today and I like it! Sunny and cold and should be a good morning for opening day of deer season here tomorrow. Which means a couple of days all to myself! I used to go too. I would be up in my stand by about 5:30 am in the dark. I would settle in with a cup of coffee and watch the woods wake up around me from 15' up in the air. It was magical. And sometimes VERY cold and even snowy!
Have fun at Hacienda, Connie! Date night for us tonight.

We're definitely into rain season. I need to do one last leaf cleanup, but I'm holding off until more leaves are down. The large-leafed maple has finally dropped the last of its leaves, so I'll bag those up today, at least. We have a weekly organics pickup so I can stuff a bag of leaves in there every week. It will take until January to get rid of then all but at least there's a pickup now -- apparently up until last January you had to bag them up and take them to a composting facility.
I can see light at the end of the garage tunnel. I've got someone interested in taking the huge metal shelves in the garage, which I realize I no longer need. One of the contractors who were here this week also said he'd take the rest of my moving boxes and let the people at his church know that there are free boxes available. I now also have a bookcase available to use, which will get rid of at least 4 boxes of books. I think once that is done I'll be able to actually use my garage.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

The cats are also loving it because I have the little foyer door into the garage open and with their flap they have full access to the garage today. They are going absolutely nutty these days; good friends and keeping each other entertained. Dude is no longer howling to go outside all the time as a result and Willow doesn't spend all her days sleeping on the couch.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Have a good weekend everyone, despite the world collapsing around us! Glad to hear that everything is falling into place for you, hagatha: now all you have to do is sort out the insurance claim on the TV...

I'm back in the morning to put on a pot of Kenyan Special reserve!
I took my two days to myself to stay up really late reading and sleep in. Tackled the countertops in my kitchen which had become cluttered and messy. I'm FAR from being called housekeeper of the year, but this was out of control. It was starting to look like one of those hoarder houses! MUCH was pitched into the trash and other stuff found new homes. It's amazing how much you can get done when you have the house to yourself!
Happy Monday!

I'm outside clearing leaves today. I'd been very diligent abut keeping leaves out of my pond but the other night we had a massive leaf drop due to high winds and by morning my pond pump had seized, completely blocked overnight with leaves from my red Acer that hangs over the pond. If the pond starts to be a big hassle and expense I'll turn it into a dry riverbed. It's a lovely feature, but I can see that it needs a lot of maintenance, and while I factored that in when I bought the house, this was unexpected! I'll give it a full calendar year before I decide, though, because the birds love it and it's lovely to watch them splashing around in the waterfall.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

We ALWAYS turn our pump off overnight when we aren't there to clear the leaves. We live in the woods, so when leaves are falling we clean it out several times a day. But at night, it is turned off to avoid it clogging up. That might be a good compromise for you.

The pond maintenance firm I work with didn't think it was necessary but going forward I think it will have to be shut off at night in the Fall. I've looked at pricing and fortunately it wasn't an expensive pump so the cost will be mostly labour.
Ah, the joys of home ownership! My new garden has been a learning curve this year, and considering the exhaustion from the last year or so, it was inevitable that at least one thing would go wrong. I'll know better next year.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

For sure this past year or so has been quite a trial. In the fall at least when leaves are falling, your pond maintenance firm should be aware that for a few weeks, the pump should be off at night and if you are away from home for several hours. We even turn ours off if we will be gone for the afternoon in the fall - especially if it's windy. By next year, you will have it all figured out!
