Good morning everyone. Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water in the Break Room. I think I'm going to really enjoy this new retirement routine! Chores, projects, gaming, Jack Reacher and music are on the docket today.
Have a wonderful day!

That's right! Today is your first day of official retirement! Now you can do what you want whenever you want! I say I don't need to go to heaven when I die - I'm living it right now in retirement! We are loving Season 2 of Jack Reacher.
Holiday decorations coming down today and a run to town to get a few groceries.
Happy Tuesday!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Soot, welcome to retirement. The best thing about it is not having to rush off anywhere in the morning. It's nice to just sit and contemplate the day with a cup of coffee.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

oldbroad, boy can I relate with you on that mood! My family apparently placed bets unbeknownst to me on how quickly I would remove every trace of the holidays from my home. It happened on Dec 26th and I was so happy to have my home restored to normal.

I used to do more decorating when the grandkids were little. But we pretty much only see my son who lives nearby, my DIL and my granddaughter who is 17 now. I do put up a skinny tree just to say I did, but that's about it. And when Christmas is done, it's all GONE! I didn't get my tree down this year because I was fighting a nasty cold, but it's all gone now!

Our neighbourhood was very festive. Apparently a lot of people here take it seriously. I managed to bah humbug my way through it all unscathed.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Although it is just myself, my wife Linda and our 19 year old cat (Badger), we have a large artificial tree and various lights some of which we have had for over 20 years, so up they all go about 10 days before Christmas to be taken down on 6th January (there being some debate I think as to whether it should happen on 5th January...) Soot, from my perspective it is important to have enough projects in retirement to balance out the chores and recreation, and/or enough money to avoid having to take up some sort of part-time employment!

Good morning everyone. We're still having unseasonably warm weather with lots of rain. I'm going to look at a couple of local gyms and also price out a few rowing machines to see which is a better option for me.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'm with Lex, since moving to Canada from England in 1973, we have still kept up with the "Twelve Days Of Christmas" and leave our decorations up until the 5th of January, we could never decide if the twelve days were up on the 5th or 6th, and play it safe by taking everything down on the 5th!!!

A couple of neighbours and I are going tomorrow to check out a gym that does a boot camp style circuit training. While I can certainly use a boot, no question, I'm not sure I'm ready for that. I will check it i out, though. It might be good.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
