I decided on House of 1000 Doors: Serpent Flame and a replay of Cradles of Rome 1.

I was also thinking about replaying Cradles of Rome.

I enjoyed Serpent Flame.

Cradle of Rome 1 is another on that Gamehouse list that says it won't play in Win 10. I didn't test it. I still had it installed on Win 7 so that's where (and partly why) I'm replaying it. I've actually been thinking about Caribbean Hideaway again but not sure I'm quite ready for that. laugh

It's probably about time for me to replay Caribbean Hideaway! It's been a few years now. I will put it on my list for this year.

Shivers will be next; but right now playing Mystery Trackers: The Void. Thanks for the nudge, oldbroad! It's "different".

Edit

Sadly, I will not be able to complete The Void. There is a puzzle where you have to guide the needle on a record player. Unfortunately, it fell into a crack in the record, and is stuck in an error loop. Restarting the game did not help. Too bad, since I was only about halfway through. Guess it's time for Shivers after all.

Edit again -

Oh what the hell - I restarted the game. Will keep you posted - - -

And yet again -

The Void is unusually long for a casual. You absolutely must be fond of hidden object scenes, some of which are fairly difficult. It turns out I was less than halfway when the crash happened. So the replay went a little faster, and played two or three hours today (who can keep track?) and still apparently have a ways to go. I'm glad I went back to it.

I hope you are able to finish the game this time, Tally Ho.

I just finished Shiver: The Lily's Requiem CE. It was a nice long game and very well done. My only real complaint (and this would be a plus for some players rather than a minus) is that I thought there were too many puzzles. After a while that started to wear on me. Otherwise, a recommended play.

So does that mean you got past the error/crash this time, Tally Ho?

Marian, for me, that might depend on the puzzles.

I finished Cradle of Rome which was harder than I remember. I guess I'll have to replay the other Cradle games too. For now I've started Jewel Match: Naturescapes.

I still have the bonus chapter of House of 1000 Doors: Serpent Flame to play. Don't know why, but I slowed down on my play time there.

I have been killing some time with My Hobby Needlework: Paris (I like it) and Art by Number 14 (okay). My jigsaw playing has stalled a bit though too.

I haven't played that one yet, ob. I am about 40% through Puzzle Hero now and still having a good time.

I've been so busy with relaxing, time filler games (and Jewel Match Naturescapes, of course) that I have been neglecting my casual and my adventure.

Hi oldbroad smile

I've dragged up this old-ish post because (due to circumstances beyond my control) I have only JUST finished the main game of Mystery Case Files : The Black Veil and and no part of it has resembled any of the games where I've had the problem of not doing things in the order the developers expected me to !!
[And I have come across that particular problem several times over the years - which to me means those games were simply not tested for every contingency.]

Anyway, the locations and characters portrayed in the main game of Mystery Case Files : The Black Veil have not been anything like those of the problem game I had spoken of in my original post so I am hoping you perhaps have in your notes details of some other game where I met the glitch, as I'm fairly certain the bonus game of this one won't contain it either.
[You have such splendid notes !! praise ]

Well I have several games noted that you had problems with:

Camelot: Wrath of the Green Knight - using the map in the bonus chapter and a crash in the bonus chapter that left something on your computer desktop

Dark Tales-Edgar Allen Poes: The Gold Bug - I wrote: It happened well into the game sometime after I'd sailed across water in a small rowing boat. It's then vital NOT to "build a saw" until after you've first got a kettle to boil and put a boot near it. See page 46 of the guide.

Fear for Sale: The 13 Keys - I wrote: Game glitch allows you to finish game and start (but not finish) bonus game - involves a page from a book - put the page in the book and pick the book up, not just the page (per Mad)

Mystery Case Files: The Black Veil - I wrote that you opened up a door before picking up a book or something and hit a glitch

I hope this helps!

Thanks for checking your notes, oldbroad. That’s much appreciated !!

Maybe I’ll try the “Fear for Sale” game next. And if it’s not that one, then the Gold Bug one afterwards, as a last ditch effort.
And if it’s not either of those, I’ll have to give up ….

But thanks again 😑

EDIT

Thinking again I’m sure it’s not the Gold Bug game.

Why are you trying to find it, if I may ask? I thought you were just trying to avoid the issue.

Just being stubborn, I suppose 😬

I really liked the game but at the time couldn’t face re- playing the whole of the main game to get to the glitchy bit in the bonus chapter.
Now, however, my feeling about that has mellowed somewhat 😉

Well, I just finished Mystical Riddles: Ship From Beyond CE. This was a long game, and the bonus game was no slouch either.

Do Games must have a great many more employees than they used to so that multiple games can be worked on at once. When a lot of these games seem to be getting shorter, these games are just as long as ever.

Overall, I enjoyed it.

That's good to know, Marian. If my count is correct, there are 44 DO Games that I do not have.

I finally finished Spirit Legends: The Forest Wraith. It was pretty good. I liked most all of the puzzles but I did skip one earlier in the game. I don't remember what it was now but I didn't even bother looking at the guide like I used to do. I may have just been crabby that day so I hit skip button after 10 tries or so at the puzzle. Not sure what's up next.

Sounds good, ob. Will get to Forest Wraith one of these day.

I started Reflections of Life: Meridiem CE. So far it's a nice game.
