Finally spring over here. But a bit north there's still snow. Today one of the greatest Nordic style ski races is ongoing in Sweden. The hundreth Vasa-race. ~90 km on ski with thousands of participants. Allegedly Gustaf Vasa, a very real king, skied that distance as an important part of the internal Nordic power struggle half a millenium ago. A nasty and violent affair. Not the race but the civic war, or liberation war, depending on how you view it.

I on the other don't ski, and certainly no 90 km. Instead I will start the day with a DDWAB. There's enough for all of you. Later today I will fight my way through the white whipped cream of a pastry. That's quite a challenge too.

Happy Sunday Gameboomers happydance12

Holy smokes, Gerry! That is a lot of rain in just one day. Warm and windy here. My daffodils are getting ready to bloom!

Grabbing another cup of coffee while I put the finishing touches on our taxes today and get that transmitted. Man, I'll be glad when they are done.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Drac, our daffodils started blooming about a week ago. I was afraid they were going to get buried in snow, but happily that did not happen this time - we just had a light dusting of snow. Whew. We really dodged a bullet on this one.

Happy Sunday, everyone. wave

Good afternoon Fogfighter, Gerry, Connie, Draclvr, OldBroad, Marian and everyone else that gets the chance to pop in. Fogfighter, that sounds like a grueling cross-country race. yes Gerry, I enjoyed your Wide Awake Double Dark brew all morning and am finishing the last cup now with another one of Connie's cinnamon crunch bagels...feel free to send the rain down here we can always use it to refill our aquifir, springs and wells. I hope you get a break in the rain. Congratulations Draclvr...that's a good feeling to get that paperwork done and in the mail. Marian, I hope you keep dodging the snow. Happy Sunday to you too OldBroad. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Our power has been out 3 times today! It's out now. Good thing I charged my Kindle and got new batteries for the
Coleman lanterns!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Monday morning all! catrub

Some sunshine here after several days of rain, but quite cold for us (which only means a few degrees above freezing).

A bit of silliness to kick off the week:

Squirrel Infestation (or substitute your own choice of small rodent)

The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation. After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be there, and they should not interfere with God’s divine will.

At the Baptist church, the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistry. The deacons met and decided to put a water-slide on the baptistry and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and, unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.

The Lutheran church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God’s creatures. So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church. Two weeks later, the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water-slide.

The Episcopalians tried a much more unique path by setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning. They sadly learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can do.

But the Catholic church came up with a more creative strategy! They baptized all the squirrels and made them members of the church. Now they only see them at Christmas and Easter.

Not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue. They took the first squirrel and circumcised him. They haven’t seen a squirrel since.

Life is what happens while you're making other plans.

Good Monday morning. Got all the kitties taken care of and now it's time for some of Gerry's Wide Awake Brew. Another warmish day ahead - it's already 65 degrees F.

Finally got the taxes done yesterday. I will run them through the checks again and then transmit today.

That squirrel story made me snicker out loud! Each one is funnier than the last!

Happy Monday all!

I have to renew my state ID card soon. What a hassle setting up an appointment was! They make everything so difficult these days. Now I just have to hope nothing goes wrong with it.

Good morning everyone. It's a cold, bright day here.

I'm still pulling together all of the documents needed for my taxes. I do have an accountant take care of it, but I still need to make sure it's all in order. I sold two properties last year, one of which will have capital gains tax. Thankfully, John was always very methodical and while his paper filing wasn't perfect, he did scan all of the important documents so I can just print them out once I've found them on his backup drive. I was all set to start creating the summary document to send to the accountant and ran out of ink. Classic. I guess it's a trip to Staples next.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hello and Happy March, hope the lamb part gets here quickly. It's actually quite nice out there right now.

Hubby, son and I solved a mystery box this morning. I brushed my pup and hung out in the sun a bit.

I think a movie might be next.

Lex, loved the squirrel stories. We feed so many squirrels and birds and apparently, a huge racoon.

Taxes are on my agenda for this month. Each night I say "tomorrow" and each morning, I say "nope!" lol

Hope you all are having a great day wave

Good Tuesday morning. A little storm blew through last night, but it was just some wind and no rain. Lots cooler today though! Really the first cloudy day we've had for some time... I was growing used to the sunshine!

Taxes done, filed and already accepted by the feds and the state. Whew! Always glad to have that over with.
