Good morning Connie, Gerry, Mad, Hagatha, Fogfighter Draclvr Marian OldBroad Lex and all who get the chance to pop in for coffee, treats and a chat or two. Gerry you definitely want to make that appointment to fix your car ... thinking your bearings need a lube or even replacment. Music bingo sounds fun Connie ... how long will you be visiting the Keys? I would love to make a trip there one day. Mad, hopefully the weather will not be "too" dreadfully hot this summer for you ... stay dry. Yard work first on the docket for my day. Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday.

Good Wednesday morning! I was laying in bed this morning listening to so many birds singing... such a welcome sound in the spring! Hubby got part of one of the big gardens tilled up with his big 5' tiller on the back of our tractor. He planted the early stuff like potatoes, onions, peas, beets, radishes and carrots. He got injections in both his knees last week, so was hopeful he could use his garden kneeler bench and not hurt them. Yay, this morning they don't hurt. He's driving the tractor down to his friend's clubhouse down by the river to till up his garden this morning. It's only about 5 miles away, but still a long drive on a tractor!
And I saw some asparagus popping its little head up yesterday! I very nearly turn into a vegetarian in the summer.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning Connie, Gerry, Mad, Hagatha, Dan, Draclvr, Marian, OldBroad, Lex and all. Started the day with some DDWAB. Then spent the day cloning the SSD on my 10 yo Win 10 computer. Not totally easy but also not impossibly hard. Always a risk to mess something up when opening a computer but the surgery was successful and now I have doubled the disc space to brave 500 GB. Should be enough for Riven and some other old software. In a year or so when Win 10 is no longer supported I better disconnect that machine from the internet. But It can still be useful for legacy games and possibly running old printers and stuff.. I also now got the old 240 GB SSD as backup for that machine.

Happy Wednesday. I just made it back home from my very frustrating trip to the DMV to renew my ID card. They have made it so much more difficult and disorganized than what it was the last time I was there. Thankfully, this ID doesn't expire and I won't have to go back again - EVER!! (Unless, of course, the hard copy doesn't make it into my mailbox.) I was literally in tears when they took my picture. The woman kept telling me to calm down; I told her "I can't, just hurry up!". She was just making it worse! I'm sure for those of you who keep up with the technology (I can't even think of the word I am trying to use here), it would not be a problem. Hopefully there will be no reason for me to leave my house from now until Autumn. We are expecting billions of cicadas this year and I cannot go out of the house with those all over the place. I already told my brother that I won't even be getting the mail out of our (in the closet) mail slot once those are out. Anyway, enjoying my coffee now.

Mad, my brother in law in Southampton has been telling me about the weather over there. He gave up on his once-lovely garden a few years back, after my father-in-law passed. He found it to be too much work keeping everything alive through recent hot summers with no sprinkler system in place. It's a shame; it used to be a passion of his.
Fogfighter, I used to have a Win XP laptop around for all those legacy games, and especially for Thief Fan Missions. It finally gave up the ghost a couple of years ago. I did manage to get Thief Gold working with a couple of tweaks a while back, so I can still run through a game every now and then.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Oldbroad, whew! That's done! I hope you never have to go back to the DMV too. Far too many don't understand anxiety and how it is nothing you can control. Lock the doors and throw away the key for awhile!
Now, I LOVE the cicadas even though they are terribly loud sometimes. But they are such beautiful little creatures with their big red eyes. They only live for a few weeks, mate and then die. Of course, my chickens are in heaven! I saw one running with a small lizard in its beak yesterday!

Good Morning Connie, soot, Draclvr., Marian, Fogfighter, oldbroad, hagatha, Marian and everyone. Double dark Wide Awake brew awaits you all. Connie 70 years ago my parents took our family to the Florida keys...we drove over all those causeways and if my memory serves me...there was nothing till you got to Key West...and I do mean nothing! How time changes everything! Enjoy your trip! Soot I had a slight leak from a gasket on the power steering a couple weeks ago and had that fixed and the fluid changed. The noise stopped for about a week and is back. The mechanic said it is the power steering pump that needs replacement...its on back order...not sure if and when it will be in. I was told my car is safe to drive for now...not sure if I agree. I was thinking it might be a bearing too but apparently not. Draclvr glad to hear hubby got the garden started and no issues with his knees! Marian I agree our seasons are changing dramatically! Fogfighter I still have my old Sony computer running on XP and play all my old games on it...still have the CDs from the original games. Hagatha I have a couple Thief games I can play too. Oldbroad I understand how you feel...the older I get the harder it is to handle any stress...life is supposed to be easier in retirement...whoever said that must not have been retired! Hope you all have a Good Day! Gerry

hagatha: Glad you got the games running. I'm in a similarish situation. The XP machine gave up a long time ago but some software can run on Win 10. Gerry: Congrats to still having that XP computer. All: New Thursday, new coffee. Have a wonderful day

Good Thursday morning everyone ๐ Yes indeed Fogfighter a new day with Gerry's DDWA coffee ... the best way to start the day. Gerry I hope that part comes in soon...hopefully you won't have to drive it. We used to keep one or two older Windows systems functioning for gaming but stopped years ago...no room to keep all of old PCs starting with our commodore 64 ๐คฃ OldBroad, I'm glad you are done with that process. Connie, wishing you a safe and wonderful week! The Asiago bagel is great...thanks. Have a great day everyone ๐

I've finally got all my tax documents together so I'll be getting those off to the accountant tomorrow morning.
After tomorrow's Gentle Yoga class ( I call it Kitten Yoga because the instructor has 2 four-month-old kittens who attend the class and "help.") I'll be switching over to Pilates at the same place. Apart from walking I've been sitting around for the better part of 6 years and it's time to do something about it. The women who attend that class all look pretty strong. Since I'm on my own now I need to make sure I keep up my strength. I'm not ready for a gym yet.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Saturday morning! Just finished hubby's big Saturday breakfast and am sitting down with some of Gerry's coffee.
Today will be moving my little pepper plants down to the basement under the grow lights. Then I will be starting my tomato seeds.
Making our corned beef and cabbage St. Patty's Day meal for supper tonight. Can't wait!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.
