A good Sunday morning to one and all - cool but sunny today with the ever present background buzz of the motorcycles as part of the TT season! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owoHDd02u1M (remember those are average speeds round a very twisty course, so at times the competitors will be nudging 200 mph...!)

Good Sunday morning Connie, Fogfighter, Lex, Gerry, Mad, OldBroad, Hagatha and all that follow... I am off for a short morning road trip to check out lake accommodations and ammenities for an upcoming family reunion next week. I'm going to take your wide awake double dark brew and an assorment of bagels, danish and donuts for the trip Gerry and Connie...and for lunch! You've got a very good point Mad from what I remember on my trips to the UK. Lex have you ever attended a TT in person? June started with rain here too OldBroad...which I must prefer over drought. Enjoy your SunShine Fogfighter! Happy Sunday everone

Good morning everyone.
It's another rainy day here. I woke up all fired up to do some weeding...and now I get to spend another day being a lady of leisure.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Sunday morning! Being lazy this morning even though it's a sunny beautiful day. Maybe I'll try to do something constructive later - or maybe not!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Soot, it is almost impossible not to attend the TT as it is run on the main road round the Island, but all you really get is camaraderie and a chance to look at some cool bikes belonging to spectators as you watch the racers flash past your vantage point (which may well be someone's front garden)! There are also strategically placed beer tents and a small funfair, making this effectively carnival season for us, with schools closed as getting to and from some of them will be very difficult on practice or racing days. That said, having shown an interest some years ago, now I mostly stay away, not least because driving becomes rather hazardous with so many visiting bikers out in force (and not necessarily sticking to their own side of the road...). Our current population is a little over 80,000 and TT visitors add about 40,000 to that number, many of them serious bikers even if not competing. Changeable weather (as we have this year) makes it almost impossible to predict when the roads used for TT will be open for normal traffic, as schedules will often change art the last minute if there is rain or fog. All in all it is rather a mixed blessing for the locals, although quite possibly the year's only really profitable season for some of them, especially in the hospitality industry.

Good Monday morning! mbday, nice to see you here! The deer nibbled off the tops of my beets and carrots. We put up 3 scarecrow sprinklers that spray them if they get too close. I have one by the tomato garden to keep the chickens out and one if front of the garage to keep the chickens from going in there and pooping all over the floor!
Going to be a toasty one today. Might even have to break down and turn on the AC!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Good morning everyone.
It's another nasty day here, with high winds and rain. So much for gardening and weeding. Willow has sensibly gone back to bed but Dude went out for his morning patrol.
Yesterday I had my furnace, heat pump and propane furnace serviced. I asked about installing a battery back-up for the fireplace, and it turns out there is a battery back-up already, just no batteries. We had a number of power outages last winter and it's nice to know I can have a heat source.
Fogfighter, It's a good thing those treats are virtual! I'm not one for donuts but a really good bagel is irresistible. Back in the 70's, when I lived in Toronto, my boyfriend and I used to go to a commercial bagel bakery and buy them straight out of the oven. Heaven!
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Tuesday morning! Another beautiful day in store - maybe a thunderstorm later. Today is bug spray day. We have problems with brown recluse spiders here. I was bitten about 35 years ago and still have the scar. So we remove their food source - insects in and around the house, machine shed and garage. A local company comes in and sprays outside and inside. I washed and vacuumed all my floors yesterday.
Connie, I sure hope it works out that you can rent that space.

Yeah, soot, I hate losing the friendly spiders to eat the bugs. But when you dominant predator spider is the brown recluse, you get rid of all of them! I still capture the giant wolf spiders in the fall that come in and release them outside.

Good morning everyone. Over here a somewhat chilly morning. Will no doubt get warmer later as Mrs Sun climbs the sky. The bugs are thriving outdoors but so are the bug eating birds. The system seems fairly well balanced, for now. Instant coffee and knäckebröd is provided for emergency use until the real stuff arrives. Happy Wednesday Gameboomers.

Good Morning Fogfighter, Connie, hagatha, Draclvr, soot and everyone. Fogfighter the Wide Awake Double dark brew is ready...enjoy! Connie I hope you get to rent the space too. Hagatha that is good news about the fireplace! Draclvr those brown recluse spiders can be deadly...I would not want them around either! Soot, years ago we would go to a local bagel bakery that only made bagels and get them every Sunday morning hot out of the oven...they smelled so good...nothing like fresh warm bagels! Have a Great day everyone! Gerry
